  2. TIL that The Angels‘ Am I Ever Going To See Your Face Again was plagiarised from a Status Quo song, and they paid dearly for it

  3. This live performance is definitionally Australian and perhaps my favourite.

It was recorded in 1988 at the Royal Melbourne Showgrounds as part of a celebration of the Bicentenary of Captain Cook sailing around the Indian and Pacific oceans and accidentally ‘finding’ Australia when it had never been lost in the first place.

It involves a certain amount of crowd participation that The Angels had never anticipated at the time of recording, but grasped when it came back at them from the crowds they played to.

  4. "My Boyfriend's Back" is a song by the pop girl group, #theAngels. It was written by the songwriting team of #BobFeldman, #JerryGoldstein and #RichardGottehrer (a.k.a. FGG Productions who later formed the group #theStrangeloves) and released as a single on July 1, 1963. The track was originally intended as a demo for #theShirelles, but ended up being released as recorded. The single spent three weeks at No. 1 on the #Billboard Hot 100 chart.

  6. If you're not familiar with The Angels, find a live recording of Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again, if you can.

It wasn't written in the song, but there is a traditional way for audiences to answer the question when they play it live.

  7. Some hard rock to start my Friday: The Angels.
One of the great Australian rock acts of the late 70s and 80s, The Angels (known as Angel City in the US) were often in the shadow of AC/DC and never had the same success outside of Australia. But they were a great band in their own right, with a wildly charismatic lead singer Doc Neeson.
