  1. CW: Babylon 5 The Road Home further thoughts

Ah, it seems that the parallel timeline where #TheRoadHome ends is intended to be the starting point for future *animated movies*, if they make them, and not the live-action reboot which hasn't yet been greenlighted.

  3. The #Babylon5 animated movie #TheRoadHome serves as both a tribute to the genre-bending science-fiction series and a new beginning.

Matt reviews, rating it 5/5 - kabOOOOOm!

  5. Was delighted to watch the new #Babylon5 release, #TheRoadHome last night, and at the same time quite sad. It felt like a great setpiece episode or two-parter that would have fit in quite nicely with the series itself, and that's simultaneously the best and worst part of it: now I want more and there's no sign that will be happening anytime soon.

The "solution" to the problem The Road Home centered around was quite predictable to me, so its discovery in the moment carried a little less gravitas then it was trying to. But that's a relatively small complaint to have, honestly.

They found a pretty good vocal doppelgangers for most of the actors who have died in the interval between B5 ceasing production and the production of The Road Home, but I felt there was something off for one of the prominent stand-ins (though let's be honest: some original performances were so singular that nearly any emulation will fall short of the mark).

Overall, it was a welcome and well-received return to a #SciFi standout classic series, and it's really cool that JMS was able to return to his universe for one more story.

  7. #Babylon5

Just watched #TheRoadHome and it's pretty good.

Sad that there were some characters no longer with us (such as Vir & Zack) missing from it.. and a little annoyed that they kept characters (G'Kar) and had some one else voice them. I'm not objecting to new voice actors in an animated continuation of the B5 universe, more the inconsistency of doing it for one and not others.

    Hopefully... more to come.

  9. @richard No #TheRoadHome does not use the likeness of deceased actors. The voices have been re-cast. How is this different from casting a new actor to play Spock in Star Trek?
