  1. The past few months, I've been doing a lot with #SSTV but one thing that has frustrated me, is the lack of public domain test cards that can be used.

I've been using the Philips PM5544 test pattern, which is a good one, but it's rendered for PAL resolution, which rarely corresponds to those used with SSTV.

Some have used BBC's Test Card F: but here is a problem -- it's copyrighted. Not sure how legal it is to use this. I'd rather not invite legal trouble using it.

The RCA Chief test card is a good one, public domain, but it is monochrome, and also not quite the right resolution for SSTV either.

    I came up with these:

I'll make these available in the public domain, so use however you feel.

  2. That's my C----tmas list sorted - 'The Golden Age of Children's TV' by Tim Worthington @outonbluesix "..out in October - you can pre-order it at
    amazon.co.uk/Golden-Age-Childr"
"It's an in-depth and frequently tongue-in-cheek history of ITV, BBC and Channel 4 children's programmes from the late fifties to the late eighties, featuring everything from Tiswas and Bagpuss to Everybody Here and Hey, It's My Birthday Too!" #ChildrensTV #TestCard #ClassicBritishTelly #BBC #channel4

  3. The trams are actually flying the Progress #Pride flag this year. Wouldn’t take much more (frequency gratings and a few vertical lines) to also function effectively as the Pride #Testcard.

  4. @EricRijlaarsdam Nee, klopt!
