Early start for Ten Tors training drop off at Oke camp.

Today our 13 year old son and his team are walking 32 miles across Dartmoor - North to South.

We couldn’t be prouder of him. Looking forward to hearing tales of bottomless bogs and soggy boots later tonight.

I guess as the right to #wildcamp on #dartmoor has been removed thats the #tentors event kyboshed too?

Much excitement and frenzied last minute kit-checks in our house tonight as our boy has his first #TenTors training hike tomorrow.

For those that don’t know the event it’s run by the British Army and involves 2400 teenagers from across the southwest competing in teams of 6 to complete a gruelling 2 day hike of between 35 and 55 miles across North #Dartmoor - it’s a real rite of passage for many kids in the West Country.

The event isn’t until the spring, but the training starts now…
