  1. Hope the bees know it’s time to wake up, as my plum trees think it’s spring.

    We’ve had a string of days in the top 5% measured against average temperatures for this time of year. Melbourne was 6-8C above average yesterday. This is climate change loading the dice.

    This may produce environmental mismatch as early fruit blossoms lack insects for pollination.

    Turkey 🇹🇷 has just hit a high of +39.2°C (102.6°F). This is the highest temperature recorded in the month of April for Turkey.

    It is extremely hot in Africa too. Both Niger 🇳🇪 and Chad 🇹🇩 equal their respective April national records.

    Meanwhile the chill continues for much of Europe...
