What we do for an iced coffee… venture out in #heatwave temperatures to bites on bonwick in #Fawkner. Temperature check: 39.1C, 12% humidity In the shade at 1.40pm.
Global warming is driving earlier, more frequent and hotter #heatwaves. Stay hydrated💦 and stay cool. 😎
The sparrows on Bonwick are jumping around and panting to keep cool.
The concrete and asphalt paths are just too hot for walkies. 🐾🐾

Hope the bees know it’s time to wake up, as my plum trees think it’s spring.
We’ve had a string of days in the top 5% measured against average temperatures for this time of year. Melbourne was 6-8C above average yesterday. This is climate change loading the dice.
This may produce environmental mismatch as early fruit blossoms lack insects for pollination.

Summer is Apricot season!! This is the First picking this year. Jan came and helped and took away some of the harvest. Some to the fridge; a batch for #ApricotJam and enough left for an #ApricotChutney . The birds and bats have already been feasting, as well as the local kids (the tree hangs over the footpath)

Happy to say a bus shelter installed at #CampbellfieldPlaza bus terminus for the 530 bus that goes from Coburg servicing #Fawkner residents. It was being used too with a woman waiting while light rain ocurred. I made representations to my local Broadmeadows MP for this.
This is a small but valuable improvement providing shade during #extremeheat and shelter from rain. So important for a terminus bus stop.
