  8. Support finally saw my ticket
    - 1st person I spoke to only triaged my ticket
    - 2nd person just repeated questions I had already answered, before stating they weren't qualified to handle the problem and passing the ticket on to yet another technician
    - Technical support escalation still underway until this 3rd technician arrives...

    10 days of total outage. Would have been faster to migrate to another web hosting provider (and while at it, outside of US jurisdiction)...

  19. Hey all--looking for career advice.

    I'm trying to become a Scrum Master or a Project Manager and am currently a "Technical Support Analyst I," which in my case means that I do a combination of Manual QA Release Testing and ticket queue work. However, I've been leading daily Stand Up and I help track the status and progress of various items the Development team is working on. I have had my current position for 2.5 years--I had one job before this, also in tech support, that lasted 1 year. So, in total, about 3.5 years of experience.

    I have a Scrum Master certification (Certified Scrum Master) from Scrum Alliance. Now what? Am I ready to apply for jobs, and if so, WHICH jobs? Do I apply for Scrum Master/Project Management roles, or should I be applying to something else as a stepping stone to get there? Do people even hire Scrum Masters anymore? If not, should I be focusing on Project Management instead, and if so, how do I pivot to Project Management?

    If it helps, I have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science.

    Please boost! I have no idea what I'm doing. All I know is that I'm trying to make enough money to survive and we're just not there yet.

    I have a treadmill. The tread needed adjusting. I checked the booklet. I checked the video. I did as was told. And... I messed up somehow... :parrot_sad:

    If I want someone to repair it for me, they want €150. I don't have that money! Not even a small part of it. All my money goes to Arwen these days...

    Is there anyone on Fedi that has experience with treadmills? That can easily talk me though this, in plain and simple words, so that I could maybe fix this myself (with their help)...

    I am not technical. And this made me very insecure. But I want to fix this without needing to sell a kidney to be able to afford the costs...

    If anyone would be able to talk me through it.... I can give more details on make and model then...

  22. So, here's one for the #linux nerds and computer geeks, tell me what's wrong with my HD and if'n it's fixable. External SSD, EXT4 formatted, works fine on Linux, albeit a bit slow to mount, but both #android and #osx say the drive is unreadable. While I'm not sure about OS X, I do know Android is compatible with EXT4, so I'm at a loss as to what's wrong and how to fix it. Long run I might replace the drive with an external M2 unit, but not sure.

    This was based on opensource ethics, and still seems reasonable there.

    Ich bin hier mit #Firefox unter Linux Mint (21) unterwegs. Im FF habe ich die Rechtschreibprüfung aktiviert und auf Deutsch gestellt. Wenn ich nun hier auf bonn.social einen Tröt eingebe, geht FF immer davon aus, dass ich Englisch schreiben will und streicht mir jedes Wort als Fehler an. Auf anderen Websites funktioniert das auch.   27. So I just reinstalled #tusky on my phone.. and I will be damned if I can find the option to turn on the federated timeline option (got "home", "notifications", "local" and "messages").

    Used to be an option under preferences > tabs - but there are only three sliders there. No plus button, no relevant sub-menu...

    Did something change? Swear I cannot see anything in the release notes. :/
