Sonnenmäßig ein durchwachsener Tag, gerade ein herrliches moderates Gewitter… und prokrastinierend (gegen Buchhaltung/Steuerbüro/Finanzamt kämpfend) habe ich erstmal die #Balkonsolar optimiert.

Genauers die Ansteuerung des #SolakonOne #Batteriespeicher mittels #HomeAssistant.

Hätte ich noch genügend Haare, so wären nun einige graue mehr dabei, denn ein Ding war, dass der #Tasmota-#Volkszähler nur alle 10 Sekunden den Stromzähler rapportieren wollte. Da musste ich dann mit dem Kopf weit unter die Haube, um an Tasmota vorbei unter Tasmota im Sekundentakt… und so weiter…

Dann gab's in der genaueren Steuerung noch die Fehler eines weltbekannten LLM-„Entwicklers“ auszumerzen… und nun nähern wir uns der Sache an, bis auf ein paar heftige Überschwinger, wenn ich den Herd anmache oder der Laserdrucker abgeht.

Irrwitzigerweise soll nun bald ein #SmartMeter installiert werden, gemäß dem Slogan „Energiewende erleben” kann ich meinen Stromverbrauch dann im Viertelstundentakt beim Netzbetreiber online anschauen. 🤪

Not sure if I repeat myself but #esphome is a gorgeous piece of tech. Love it. Even supports #IPv6 by default.
#Tasmota on the other hand wants me to build my own images. Dunno why that is though *shrug*

Every now and then my #Tasmota based IR-SML-reader does read and transmit only zero values. After a few zero readings it returns to nominal operations and transmits the real values from my electricity meter.
That always messes up all the statistics in #HomeAssistant. For example, the total feed-in value is then attributed to a single day. As a result, long-term statistics are no longer meaningful.
Is there a way to filter those mis-readings either on the HomeAssistant or Tasmota side?

@happyborg IKEA and Sonoff are always good options. There are also a variety of plugs that you can flash with #Tasmota firmware (I have a number myself) but it can be a bit of a lottery to find those that you can flash OTA. https://templates.blakadder.com/

The pool temp sensor is a DSB18B20 on a SonOff TH. Been working fine for years. However every time there are electric problems (blackout, usually with brownout) the sensor stops working and no reboot fixes it. It only comes back after unplugging physically the sonoff.

So when I wake up to no temperature I know I should walk to the other side of the house in the dark machine room and just turn off the whole breaker off and on and it will just come back 🤷🏻‍♂️

Erst mit dem Handy nach dem WLAN des Zählers suchen, dann per Handy mein lokales WLAN verbinden.

Dann die IP suchen, einen Port anhängen, der nirgendwo steht.

Ein Skript auf einer Webseite generieren, das man auf der Webseite des Zählers hochladen muss.

Dann eine spezielle MQTT-Integration von der Webseite des Herstellers herunterladen (zum Glück als OneKlick).

Dann einen User für das Gerät einrichten und den User in der MQTT-Integration erfassen.

War bestimmt noch mehr, was ich mittlerweile vergessen habe.

Wer denkt sich bitte so was aus 😵‍💫

Successfully remotely upgraded the esp8266 lighting controllers in the camper from #Tasmota to #ESPHome. Managed to brick the two #WLED controllers so they'll need a physical connection to sort out. The single esp32 based relay board also needs a physical connection - Tasmota on that won't let me 'upgrade' to esphome firmware.
After they're all done, I've got to work out what I did with the #zigbee controller that means it's not on the network. Then I've got to program the switches...

The number of times i've re-bought a USB TTL serial device, because the one i SWEAR I STILL HAVE has been misplaced (likely because its been years since i used it last, I just dont manually flash that often) is shameful.

Dass man nach einem Stromausfall den Stromzähler erst wieder per PIN „freimorsen“ muss ist auch ärgerlich.

Note to self: Den „erweiterten Datensatz“ muss man dabei auch wieder aktivieren, sonst kann der IR-Lesekopf die akuellen Daten nicht auslesen.

If anyone else has ever has to re-initialise their #tasmota switch and get it back working with the same MQTT commands as before years later when you've forgotton everything - here is how I did it

My #NodeRED was setup to send true or false to my LAN #MQTT broker using tasmota/cmnd/localbytes1/Power as the topic

On my tasmota device MQTT config page, I set host to IP address of my local broker and set topic to localbytes1 and full topic to tasmota/%prefix%/%topic%/

My super hacky NAD remote control over WiFi setup. An ESP-01S with Tasmota that gets its power from an ESP32-A1S board in the back. The black cable goes to the IR IN input of my NAD C 320BEE amp.

Bummer I can't do this with the squeezelite-esp32 firmware but I understand an IR send feature probably won't work: https://github.com/sle118/squeezelite-esp32/issues/229

I’m trying to set up #Tasmota on IR blaster. It’s installed and it works. Except it doesn’t boot without internet (VLAN with only dns, dhcp and ntp port to the router allowed).

I have a few RGBCTT bulbs flashed with Tasmota and integrated into Home Assistant. I forgot to back up their configuration, and kids reset them by flipping a wall switch a few times in a row. Guessing and configuring Tasmota from scratch has been a daunting task for me. Luckily the bulbs are supported by #ESPHome (https://esphome.io/components/output/bp5758d/) and I can migrate OTA from #Tasmota to ESPHome: https://esphome.io/guides/migrate_sonoff_tasmota/

Doing that tomorrow morning.

Hm dieser #Shelly Range-Extender arbeitet auf Layer3 und kann incoming nicht mit Adressen außerhalb des Subnets kommunizieren. Das ist ja doof. Ich hätte jetzt gehofft dass der einfach eine bridge aufmacht. Geht das wirklich nicht als bridge?

I thought I had this super bright #idea when I connected my 3D printer to a #Tasmota flashed #Sonoff POW R2. Basically I wanted it to automatically power off when it dropped below 25W for 15 minutes. It didn't work. Something about IFs nested inside RULEs not working and constant sensor updates resetting the power off timer. Tried the same thing in #HomeAssistent, but with the current power being below 25W for a period of time, the automation never triggered. Kinda disappointing that none of those worked, considering the relative simple premise. Bugger.

I finally diagnosed and deleted the MQTT retained messages that were randomly resetting my #tasmota "smart" switches to a "predefined" state whenever they reconnected to WiFi. All of them had a retained message. Half of them were set to ON, half to OFF, with no apparent pattern.

Given the number of tutorials to "remove retained messages" I'm not the only user of @homeassistant suffering from this issue.

@thomas Ich habe einen #Sonoff POW 2 mit der alternativen #Tasmota Firmware bedampft. Dann einen #Mosquito #MQTT Broker mit auf dem #homeassistant eingerichtet. #HA und der Sonoff haben dann über MQTT kommuniziert.
Der POW kann den fließenden Strom des angeschlossenen Gerätes direkt messen. Im #HA darauf eine Automatisierung gebaut, welche eine Nachricht absetzt, nachdem die Stromaufnahme für so und so lange auf den Ruhestrom der Waschmaschine fällt.
