This explains why #TapestryApp has been timing out when refreshing my Bluesky feeds.

Apparently no one has thought about combining different platforms into one, well just Mastodon and Bluesky. Indigo seems to be scratching the itch for some people and that’s fine by me. I have noticed that is slower than Tapestry and doesn’t seem to show all posts in a thread. Hopefully just teething problems. If this is old news, I’m sorry and everyone can make fun of me but I finally figured out how to follow Threads accounts with Fediverse sharing enabled in #tapestryApp.

You go through the process as if you are trying to do an unauthenticated follow of a single Mastodon user but you put their full Threads username in the username field, while leaving mastodon.social as the instance.

Tapestry 1.9 is available now in the App Store. We've added a new connector to follow recent posts on images.nasa.gov. Fixed issues preventing proper iCloud syncing, improvements to 'Save as Image' & much more.

If I had a dollar for every image I’ve generated with #tapestryApp to send my wife, you’d know.

The new NASA connector @bigzaphod whipped up for #TapestryApp has been wonderful. Of course the pictures from space are amazing but I’m also enjoying the photos of the scientists and other people committed to making the mission a success and bringing the astronauts home safe.

Seeing stuff like this pop into my timeline is a joy.

Created another in-app event for the Tapestry 1.8 release on the App Store. Kinda getting the hang of these now. Hopefully they help drive downloads but who knows. 🤷‍♂️

@ctt You can configure #TapestryApp custom timelines to adjust the length of time their items hang around/are displayed. The default setting is Anytime which keeps timeline items for a month (30 days). You can limit this setting to a week, a day or just a few hours if you wish.

@bigzaphod since you’re probably waiting for horror stories regarding the latest #tapestryapp beta, I can report that it seems to be working fine. The initial sync took a while but all is well.

And that feature request I filed the other day for a default timeline setting may be more of a bug? I have seen the app load the most recent timeline at launch but more often than not it just loads all feeds.

If a given outlet’s #RSS feed is unreliable or keeps throttling you, I highly suggest just using their Mastodon or Bluesky accounts.

Both offer RSS for individual profiles and if you’re a cool #tapestryApp user, it can follow both natively without even logging in.

For whatever reason, MacRumors’ RSS feed kept throwing a 503 but their Mastodon profile works great!

A question for users of #TapestryApp.

How do you edit an existing timeline? I can see how to add feeds and I know I have edited timelines before, but I just cannot see how to do it now.

I've spent a long time looking for a perfect (for me) RSS reader, and I have yet to find one. But I am extremely grateful for the muffle/mute system in @Iconfactory's #TapestryApp. Being able to essentially set up my own content warnings for news articles (with regex!) is something that I don't think I could give up.

@Iconfactory Will the #macOS #TapestryApp get the "Open Links In... In-App Browser / Reader Mode / External Browser" option, which is available in the iOS and iPadOS apps?
In most cases, I would prefer to open links in an in-app browser also on Mac, instead of generating tabs in an external browser.
An in-app browser in Tapestry for Mac should include the same sharesheet and "open in default browser" functions available in Tapestry for the iOS and iPadOS.

Hot on the heels of the release of #tapestryapp 1.7, the amazing developers are already testing 1.8 with a nifty new feature.

Imagine sharing a screenshot of a post from Tapestry without having to crop down to just the post OR having to combine multiple screenshots because the post is taller than your screen! It’s happening!

I have a #featurerequest for #tapestryapp - group settings. For example all links are opening in built-in browser, but I’d like to open Reddit posts in external app. So now I have to open each Reddit Feed, and change the setting. Group-specific settings could also have muffles, feed colour and so on.

#NotAnAd, just what I love about #TapestryApp as an #ActuallyAutistic user, in addition to previously posted:

- Doesn't collect data on iOS
- No notifications
- Works on and syncs with macOS
- Can open posts in app or browser of choice (#Mona for me)
- Mutes or muffles duplicate posts
- Can group hashtags in single timeline

I'm able to follow and engage more now without overwhelm. I don't exaggerate when I say it has made a difference to my #Mastodon life.
