  1. Readwise Reader and Sublime.app are some of the most useful services I subscribe to right now. I am actually a little anxious about Readwise Reader in particular because if it were not around tomorrow I would be pretty upset.

My highlights/annotations and drill-downs on everything I read in there get retrieved into an #ObsidianMD vault via plugin so I wouldn't lose what I've got, but I don't even know of a single alternative to #ReadwiseReader that exists. #SublimeApp only makes it better.

  2. Wondering where to take refuge now — go back to #Instapaper or try out #Matter and #ReadwiseReader? 🤔

Any other suggestions for apps that work across #iOS and desktop?

Ugh! This is like #Zite and #GoogleReader all over again. 😰

  3. What I had hoped was: I buy the ebook, get the ePub file, can upload to #ReadwiseReader on my devices, highlight the sucker as I see fit, and then easily be able to access all the highlights/notes from wherever.

  4. Quick question for advanced #tapestryapp #tapestry by @Iconfactory users: I would like to open blog posts from RSS feeds in #ReadwiseReader as it is my preferred reading app and I use it to capture highlights.

Now, Reader does not pop up as app to open links from an RSS in Tapestry, so it seems like it does not support Universal Links or provides URL schemes to permalinks. However, can I achieve that with a Custom setup? I need to dig into the support site, but this is a bit over my head.

  5. Just shipped v1!

Reade is a LaunchBar action to interact with the Readwise and Reader APIs. It can add highlights to Readwise, save URLs and text to Reader, and list Reader items.

  6. Really been enjoying some of the new design flourishes made to #ReadwiseReader in the past month. Among them a new header design for your saved items.

Still my favorite and most versatile read it later app. The king.

  7. @dotemacs @terry Would work great for the main #Readwise service but for #ReadwiseReader I would want to read my saved on my remarkable, with highlights being synced back as only the added bonus :)

  8. I literally started playing around with #Omnivore a few days ago 😭 I was so excited to support a FOSS read later app and integrate it into my workflow.

I guess I don't have to choose between it and #ReadwiseReader anymore, but I really liked what I seen from Omnivore...man.

  9. @terry I made a question both in the Mudita kickstarter and in the Readwise Discord about the two supporting one another

I’m so gutted that I can’t use my #remarkable2 with #ReadwiseReader and that Remarkable apparently isn’t willing to discuss support when #Readwise has tried contacting them

The Remarkable is otherwise the smoothest #eink experience I have had

  10. The #Kickstarter for the #MuditaKompakt e-ink phone looks quite appealing, more so than the #Lightphone does to me, especially as they say that advanced users will be able to sideload apps, then it becomes somewhat of a smaller #BooxPalma with mobile connectivity and a possibly very awesome device for #ReadwiseReader

    Keep it coming #Mudita!

  11. The design and layout of these #reactjs tutorials is gorgeous and I LOVE the use of #chromatic-hosted #storybook for them! Instant add to my #readwisereader shortlist 🤩 upskills.dev

  12. Has anyone imported an #OPML file with feeds in a folder structure into #ReadwiseReader, by any chance? I'm curious whether it's possible to import a collection of feeds with an existing folder structure and preserve that structure in Reader? #RSS #Readwise

  13. Me: Pocket should up their game, the parser is very unreliable, search is borderline useless, I still can't add notes to highlights nor articles, text-to-speech often refuses to load. I guess I'm gonna switch to Readwise Read—

Pocket really is a lost cause, isn't it?

  14. Didn't notice this until now, but #ReadwiseReader has a handy feature where it shows promos of links found within a document as a right rail option and you can save the item to your library with one click. They also include related links (More Links) not found in the article.

    Handy.

  15. over the weekend I changed the prompt that #ReadwiseReader uses to create the summaries of documents via the Ghostreader. I'm quite happy with it since I already started to read them more before looking into the actual document.

I advise ChatGPT to summarize it prefixed with emojis:

🔑: key points of the document
💡: ideas that could enlighten me
    🤯: mindblowing things
❔: important question the document asks the reader

Did you change the prompt for the ghostreader, too? If yes - what's yours?

  16. I really liked #readwise #ReadwiseReader when I first tried them. But lately it seems the more I use it the more awkward and unhelpful they both seem to be. Time to start looking at alternatives again I guess.

  17. @casraf Reeder by @rizzi has been my go-to choice for years but also recently started using #ReadwiseReader

  18. The new voices for are pretty good! And I can finally listen at 3x speed without glitches.

  19. Thanks to #ReadwiseReader, @obsidian, and @actionsdotwork I've finally a working workflow for a weekly blog post with the links worth sharing that I've found during the week.

    #weekendlinks

  20. While I've used #ReadwiseReader for ages (and love it to pieces), I recently started leveraging #OmnivoreApp as a trial replacement. Doesn't have all the bells-and-whistles of Readwise, but there's something more laid back and calming about it. Reminds me of something closer to my beloved #Reeder RSS app. Love that it's open source (I could self-host if I wanted), and the OpenAI voices it uses for narration are just _the best_.

And h/t to @mako for the push.

  21. Thanks to #ReadwiseReader, #Shortcuts, #Obsidian, @actionsdotwork, @goodlinks, and @bufferapp I've now a much better workflow for link-sharing than I’ve ever had.

    Very happy with this!

  22. #Ivory updated to add support for #ReadwiseReader for read-it-later services. 😄

  23. @WuMargaret For about a decade I used Reeder (lovely app). Now I’m using #Readwise #ReadwiseReader (also a lovely app) because it combines RSS, email newsletters, and saving articles, tweets, YouTube videos, PDFs (even eBooks) to view and annotate later. It also has collections and filters for managing content.
