We took our 3/4 Japanese granddaughter to a big new park near the #Takatsuki city (高槻市) center and not far from our house. Although she is not 2 yet and usually cautious, it was funny how she took to bouncing on a huge sort of trampoline with bigger kids like my sons and I would have done. It takes a lot of energy to get her comfortable with a big man speaking #English to her (and #Japanese to her mother and my wife), using many gestures and helping her play.
The Ama Park (安満公園) is on an archaeological site showing Japanese pride in their long history, with displays of life around 2,500 and 2,000 years ago in the Jomon and Yayoi Periods.
We are amazed and amused at how successful our sons are in Tokyo. Our older son just went on a business trip to Seattle, New York City, and Boston, my home town. It was like a dream come true having a family member go there for the first time. He shared nice photos of #Boston along the Freedom Trail.
