  15. There seems to be a problem with crossposting to the bird site. We thought about deactivating the account there anyway. What is your opinion on this?

  16. @swib Artem Reshetnikov's slide "Fairness in GLAM" shows how AI, based on the data of our "white male supreme" culture, perpetuates manifested sexist and racist etc. view of the world. This talk follows up @stacymallison "
Libraries, linked data, and #decolonization" keynote. One has to pay attention when using #AI techniques. #swib22

  17. The "Machine Learning" session at #swib22 just started. Watch the live stream via swib.org/swib22/

  19. The first Thursday session of #swib22 with four lightning talks and two regular talks is about to begin. See the stream via swib.org/swib22/

  20. For example, a #swib22 lightning talk about the Fediverse might be very timely to encourage library people setting up a presence here. Any takers?

  21. We had a really nice discussion in the (virtual) #swib22 pub this evening in a small round of 4-6 people.

One central theme was the movement towards centralization of the web (Twitter, also Wikidata/Wikipedia) & how to create a decentralized web that is resilient in the face of social & ecological disruptions. Amongst others, #ActivityPub, #IPFS, #BitTorrent, #LOCKSS, #Kiwix, #Spritely had an appearance.

    Thank you @tobiasnx @osma @literarymachine @steffenr42 @dbs & Joachim for this evening!

  22. You still can add your lightning talk to the list at pad.gwdg.de/swib22-lightning-t

The #swib22 lightning talk session will start tomorrow 2022-12-01 on 14:00 UTC.

  23. finished my first @swib contribution now. 😎 A workshop about "structured data on wikimedia commons"
introduction slides are available now: commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Fil

thanks for the organization and all contributors during the workshop! #SWIB22

  24. Today is workshop day at #swib22. Around 250 people have signed up for one of seven workshops. (See the workshop list at swib.org/swib22/programme.html .)

Participants of each workshop will meet in a dedicated BigBlueButton room. Go to your workshop's chat channel for more information and if you have any questions.

  25. I am looking forward to this afternoon's workshop #swib22 - I am going to attend the 3D Workshop presented by @lozross

"Working with linked open data in the context of annotation and semantic enrichment of 3D media: A new FOSS toolchain"

Quite excited because last year I attended the @skohub workshop and I directly started using it for our #pia_sinergia research project - still a work-in-progress though :)

  28. Impression from #swib22 so far: #BIBFRAME is actually becoming reality, migration from #MARC21 or other formats has finally begun. The end goal, however is still moving, as bibframe does not cover all requirements

  29. In her great #swib22 talk on #bibframe modeling Tina Tina Trillitzsch (Leibniz-Institut für Psychologie #ZPID) mentioned they also use #Skosmos for their vocabularies. The instance is not publicly accessible (yet?). See bartoc.org/registries for public Skosmos instances and let us know if there are more!

  30. The video recordings of #swib22 from yesterday were already uploaded!

  32. I'm excited to present our librarian-in-the-loop workflow to increase in roughly one hour at Join the live stream at swib.org/swib22/ Slides available at doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.7372985

  33. @swib some of the concerns/issues:

    - Labels, data models and concepts
    - Standards rooted in colonial practices
    - Problematic or incorrect data relationships
    - Data governance
    - Provenance

An example: Library of Congress Subject Headings #LCSH #LOD #GLAM

    #swib22

  34. #SWIB22 always feels like home somehow. The "switch" I did from #glam to #DigitalHumanies doesn't change its relevance to me.

  35. Prior to #swib22, I've just noticed this article: "How Your Cultural Dataset is Connected to the Rest Linked Open Data?"

Seems an appropriate lecture at some point. #LOD #LODLAM
