    I need your help.
How can you help? By donating to my GoFundMe to pay for medical expenses. If you cannot donate, please SHARE MY STORY. This is the best way to help me get help.

    $220/2500

If you are unaware, I recently had abdominal surgery to correct a bowel perforation. It left me with an ostomy port and a colostomy bag.

Right now, I cannot work, even walking is difficult, and the only thing I can focus on is recovery.
While my surgery and follow up treatment is covered by my insurance, many things are not. The majority of what I will need to pay for is supplemental medical bills. It looks like it’s going to cost about $2500 for everything. I also need a lot of medical supplies to be able to manage my condition which, over 6 months, will accumulate.
My family, i.e. my adult children, have been supportive and have paid for my special food and medical supplies so far, but the financial burden is too great for them alone. They have been amazing and I am eternally grateful, but I need more help.
I hate to ask for help, I hate that I need it, but I do.
How can you help? Share or donate to my GoFundMe.

Edit: Total amount changed from $4500 to $2500 after I was able to confirm that *some* of my physical therapy will be covered by my insurance. This is great news!

  2. CW: Spoonie whining, post op recovery, complications

Apparently post operative gout flares are a thing. Care to guess how I came to be aware of this fact?

That wasn't on my bingo card. It's been a wild ride, and it's only day three.

The surgery itself was no big deal. But post operative complications are kicking my butt.

  3. Hopping on the stationary bike for the first time in 3.5ish weeks. Used to go ~45 minutes in a session; today I’m starting lightly at 10 minutes for the easiest program and I’m giving myself permission to bail if/when I need to. I still have to do laundry today, so I won’t be sitting immobile all day.
