  1. This is one of the 'funner' associative image drawing sessions with my daughter. She added all the sprinkly dots with a #supernote brush and I added eyes, nose, and ear outlines

  2. #MyDeepGuide with some #privacy network tests on #epaper devices. He developed a test method and an interesting Python analysis/report workflow that is supposed to be published. 👍

    First run:
#iFlyTek #AINote vs #BooxGo 10.3. How Private are These Devices?
    youtube.com/watch?v=srFT5OkJPmU

Seems like the #Boox platform offers better privacy compared to the iFlyTek product.

Looking forward to more tests like that. I assume that #reMarkable will be considerable worse. #Supernote is scheduled as well.

  7. Well well well

if this isn't an #mtp app for #macos that natively browses my #Supernote eink tablet for file transfer!

    😎

  8. @rwg Ooooooohhhhhhh, I'm waiting for Supernote to open up it's SDK and then for someone to make something I can use to merge my Supernote annotations and notes with Zotero and my life will be complete.

  9. @supernotes I’d love a WiFi-printing option (Ghostscript?) Yes, I know that would be tough to implement. I’d also like a shapes palette.

But mainly, I’d love a “Replace handwriting with recognized text” option. Yes, I can export recognized text, but I’d rather replace it in-place.

Thanks. Keep up the good work.

  10. Members get access to an "inspiration board" and can suggest things for me to draw. One of these was comfort / fave characters, SO, as #Supernote practice, I did up some headshots of these different characters as a freebie gift.

  11. After using it for a week, I updated my organizer template to include a ToC with links, and general cleanup.

  13. Discovered a project that looks very promising: github.com/liketheduck/superno. It uses Apples ocr tools to improve the text conversion of supernote notes. It does it in a way that is pretty transparent, and while not real time, fast enough to be useful I think. I just need to get it working 8-) #supernote #python

  14. Vicious Rumor: Apple in talks to buy Boox, eink tablet manufacturer. SuperNote declined to discuss the issue, saying “they do it better.”

  15. Just learned that the quick list on the Supernote manta is limited to 8 places, but the bad news is when you a 9th link it just pushes the bottom one off. #supernote #supernotemanta

  16. The more I think about it, it doesn't really even fit anyway. The Supernote Manta isn't usually regarded as the fanciest tablet. Competent, sure, but not as sleek/fancy/metallic/etc as the reMarkable or the others. So why pair it with a stylus designed to mimic an expensive pen? #supernote #supernotemanta

  17. I don't want a cap - who the hell ever wanted to deal with a pen with a cap?

The only reason pens ever have caps is because it is required to keep ink from drying out or getting on stuff accidentally. EMR stylus' don't have ink.

Can we please have a nice ceramic tipped stylus with an eraser on the back end, and a button for lasso. Sure, go ahead and make it metal and heavy if you must.

  18. I'm getting pretty attached to my Supernote Manta, but I don't understand the obsession with styling their stylus' like expensive pens. Especially inconvenient expensive pens. I want a button or two, a decent clip, an eraser on the back, and a ceramic tip.

  19. I've published a new version of the #Supernote plugin for @joplinapp

    with v0.2.0 you can:
    1. tag all your synced notes with a tag of your choice
    2. choose whether you want the recognized text to re-flow or be displayed as it was recognized
    3. force sync all the notes

also a bug with landscape notes was fixed in the underlying library

  20. For someone who simultaneously enjoyed the reMarkable 2 and the iPad Mini, but was absolutely disappointed with the SuperNote Nomad, is the reMarkable Move a thing to remotely consider trying?

  21. Finally figured it out and sideloaded Libby and Bookshop.org apps onto #Supernote Nomad!! No longer want a Kobo Clara, for now.

In short: download adb (from Google), download Aurora Store apk, connect Nomad to your computer and use adb to install Aurora Store (in Terminal). From this on, use Aurora to install Libby and Bookshop.org apps.

  22. In prep for the new year, I finally remade my old iPad/GoodNotes daily planner template for the #Supernote Manta. My desk has a groove at the base of the riser that's perfect for holding a tablet in landscape orientation, and since the Supernote recently (at last) got the feature to preserve whatever was last on the display during sleep, it's perfect for keeping a daily planner around.

  23. Started the new year finishing off a #sewing project, a case for my #Supernote manta. It's a bit snug but it works as a proof of concept and to play with the embroidery stitches on my machine. The next iteration will get a pen pocket, I think.
It's based off this pattern from The Assembly Line

  24. I was eating dinner and someone asked me about my book and the SuperNote. I gave them the book.

  25. This break's personal project seems to have coalesced. I've found myself writing some #Rust that glues together my existing voice-triggered #HomeAssistant -based shopping list into #Cooklang 's infrastructure for recipe and shopping list management.

My existing workflow is a python script that automatically downloads my shopping list, converts it into a PDF using #Typst, and uploads it to my #Supernote.

The new and improved version does, or soon will:
    - Use Cooklang's aisle management feature to group ingredients on my shopping list by physical location at the store
    - Use Typst's Rust implementation to generate PDFs internally, without the need for external binaries
    - Interactively add ingredients (as needed) for a recipe to the shopping list
    - Automatically keep my Recipe collection (in cooklang) synced to my Supernote (as PDFs)

I'm also looking at using Cooklang's pantry management system, but I'm not sure I will keep all of its state sufficiently up-to-date to be useful

  26. Overall the device is a cauldron of love/hate, but more on that in a longer review I'm putting together.

  27. As I'm using the Supernote Manta more, I'm of course considering their cloud service, which calls to mind security. My first inclination (and many other user's, based on online comments) is that it's not secure by modern computer standards. But is that really relevant when comparing to a paper notebook? #SupernoteManta #supernote #security

  28. Last week I got a Supernote Manta tablet. It's an e-ink tablet designed for notetaking as a primary focus. It's an amazing device that has revolutionized my note taking and organizing.

It has a built in hand writing recognition capability that works even when offline.

It has the capability to link between and within notes making it really easy to interlink all kinds of things for ease of use and organizational skills.

Because it's a tablet, it also has the ability to copy, cut, and paste just like you might do on your computer. I've found this handy for reorganizing sermon notes and reordering my translation work without having to rewrite everything.

    This device is simply amazing!

  29. I have a #supernote manta, and I wanna use their app #inkflow, which supposedly turns the tablet into a graphic tablet (== input device).

I'm on nixos (a linux distro) and it just doesn't work.

Don't get me wrong: I can mount the device, I can use it as an ereader in calibre, so it is definetely connected.

Just the graphics tablet function doesn't work. The computer just doesn't react. The tablet thinks it is connected, afaict.

I already updated, and I turned off sideloading (this is required for inkflow for some reason).

My laptop recognizes normal wacom tablets, so it's not that all graphic tablets are broken or something.

any ideas? maybe i need some udevrules, that's at least what I expect.
