I think I might need another husband. Just for the excitement of it. Or perhaps just a very large cocktail. It's a toss-up, really. #LwaxanaTroi #Romance #AllStarTrek #StarTrek #StarTrekTNG #TNG #StarTrekDS9 #DS9 #Mastodon

We watched #StarTrekTNG's "Redemption II" tonight. Even though I only recently covered the episode, I'm always amazed by the new things that strike me when rewatching an old episode, like the juxtaposition of the red Klingon/Romulan light and the blue light on the Sutherland bridge.

Poster found by Cmdr Carr( @kcarr2015 ) Great lineup all around tonight, but this DS9 is a classic. One of the best from the series.

There's one brief Observation Lounge shot in #StarTrekTNG's "Ensign Ro"⬆️ where it was forgotten to turn on the green "frame light" of the artwork behind the bar. It is turned on (as usual) in the shots right before ↙️ and after ↘️ the one with the missing light.

If you look really closely, you can see that the special data chip with Starfleet orders that is passed around in #StarTrekTNG's "Ensign Ro" actually features the Federation emblem on the white part, something we haven't seen before.

I like this shot in #StarTrekTNG's "Ensign Ro" because you can see that Mot's Bolian make-up does not solely consist of blue body paint. I also like the Vulcan crewmember in the background getting a classic Vulcan bowl cut with pointy sideburns, I guess... ;-)

Sometimes a person's soul has a melody that doesn't quite match the rhythm of their surroundings. And instead of trying to change the song, why not learn to dance to it? #LwaxanaTroi #Soul #AllStarTrek #StarTrek #StarTrekTNG #TNG #StarTrekDS9 #DS9 #Mastodon

Poster is a Cmdr Carr( @kcarr2015 ) original! I love Borg episodes. They get a bad rap. People don't like them cause they reflect humans. Just more honest about it

The futuristic hair trimmer used by Mr. Mot in #StarTrekTNG's "Ensign Ro"⬆️↙️ originally was a medical device, used to scan for the remains of Ambassador T'Pel on the transporter platform in "Data's Day"↘️... 😋

Not only the wall opposite the Observation Lounge windows was changed between #StarTrekTNG season 4 and 5 but also the area underneath the windows. It was plain in earlier seasons ("The Defector"⬇️) but now features illuminated light slats ("Ensign Ro"⬆️).

Cardassian shipboard weapons fire was pink only in #StarTrekTNG's "The Wounded"↖️ and in "Ensign Ro"↗️. In all later appearances since #StarTrekDS9's "Emissary"↙️, Cardassian weapons fire was orange ("The Chase"↘️).

I love that they replicated her a matching phaser belt in the same color as the outfit. #StarTrek #StarTrekTNG

Any time we can pay our respects to #StarTrek on our #PopCulture episode -- we gotta!

So ofc, in our discussion of scutum and shields, the phrase "SHIELDS UP" gets a shout out (listen here: https://starrytimepodcast.podbean.com/e/scutum-pop-culture-superstar/)

I saw a child today playing with colors that didn't seem to match their toys. They were just mixing them together, creating something new and unexpected. I hope they never grow up to fear the mess of it all. #LwaxanaTroi #Creativity #AllStarTrek #StarTrek #StarTrekTNG #TNG #StarTrekDS9 #DS9 #Mastodon

Poster found by Cmdr Carr( @kcarr2015 ) An uber classic, but selected cause I don't have a poster for 'Omega', where Janeway ruins Seven's toy.

Screenshots from #StarTrekTNG's "Ensign Ro"⬅️ show that Mot's barbershop set is virtually unchanged from the way it appeared in the season 4 episodes "Data's Day"↗️ and "The Host"↘️.

Mr. Mot keeps a silver bottle/thermos in his barbershop in #StarTrekTNG's "Ensign Ro"↖️. The prop will later also appear in "Ethics"↗️ in Worf's sickbay room, during a Troi family picnic in "Dark Page"↙️ and in da Vinci's study on Tau's planet in "Concerning Flight"↘️.

Here's a comparison of the original footage of the USS Enterprise-D approaching Lya Station Alpha in #StarTrekTNG's "Ensign Ro"⬅️ and the remastered footage with a retinted alien planet ➡️. The original planet/moon footage was filmed for "Star Trek III: The Search for Spock".

The replicator in the Observation Lounge was especially installed for #StarTrekTNG's "Ensign Ro"↘️. Before "The Nth Degree"⬆️, when an isolinear chip access point was installed in the same location (and still present in "In Theory"↙️), there was just a plain wall.

At least the next DS9 is silly.

Well that was freaking depressing.

Finally Deanna actually employs her counseling skills effectively. On her mother no less.

Notice how Gates McFadden got a new wig with longer hair right before #StarTrekTNG's "Ensign Ro"⬇️. In the previous two season 5 episodes ("Redemption II"↖️, "Darmok"↗️), she was still wearing the older season 4 wig with shorter hair.

In #StarTrekTNG's "Ensign Ro"⬆️, we get a good look at the redesigned Observation Lounge back wall again. The golden starships of olden days ("The Nth Degree"⬇️) are gone, replaced by some grey ribbing. Rick Sternbach's beautiful space art, seen behind Barclay, is also gone.
