"Out-of-state, conservative organizations lead charge to ban ranked choice voting in Ohio."
https://www.news5cleveland.com/news/state/out-of-state-conservative-organizations-lead-charge-to-ban-ranked-choice-voting-in-ohioPS: #Conservatives are forgetting that the #SpoilerEffect hurts #Republicans too, not just #Democrats. For example, in 1992 Ross Perot took votes from GHW Bush and swung the election to Bill Clinton. Perot won 18.9% of the popular vote, letting Clinton win with only 43%.

Time for #Republicans to support #RankedChoiceVoting.

@gemelliz That's not how I remembered it.
Most voters were against Doug Ford, but under a #FirstPastThePost election system, similar candidates will split votes: "Thunder Bay" had a false majority in the naming poll, even though "Lakehead" and "The Lakehead" had more votes combined.
Likewise, votes against PC were split between Liberal and NDP candidates in each riding.
Ranked voting or proportional voting mitigates this issue.
