I completed Space Quest 1, but purposefully left the important data cartridge back on Kerona so I would get the "bad ending". I was surprised that the only difference was an extra line which is not shown: "The Star Generator technology is safe inside the Data Cartridge. Now, a new Star Generator can be built and can carry out its original task"
The evidence of this difference is shown in the LOGIC file logic.64.
