In "You wouldn't make it up" news, today I discovered that when the Pension Service (and related government departments) write a letter to you they can't just select your record to populate the fields but have to MANUALLY TYPE EVERY ONE! Your address, NI number, everything! #SoStupid Another example of government underfunding of social services.
(I received a letter this morning with an error in my NI so phoned to check if they had changed it - unlikely, sure - and got told the sorry tale.)
