It still amazes me how bad the SONOS app is.
Network bounced this morning at 745am. None of the SONOS gear was in use.It's now 2pm and not all speakers are connecting. The connections between speakers drops. All playback craps out and has to be restarted.
It's hard for me to imagine failing as hard as everyone at SONOS has failed and like a year later, still not have a stable product.

I am a massive user and fan of Sonos. The new app has been an unmitigated disaster and it didn't help that Sonos' management doubled down, tripled down even, before admitting the self-inflicted disaster. I truly hope they can recover from this as I love their tech and ecosystem...but I'm not confident they will. I hope the managers who were part of the terrible decision to release the app as it was/is are included in this culling.

@ellie @djc @[email protected] I recently started using navidrome together with something called bonob to stream it to my #sonos devices, but this is something that the recent #sonosapp disaster removed, which is why I'm building my own thing right now.

Just look how responsive it is when I move the group volume slider at the bottom! It takes only a second or so for the others to follow!!

Es ist schon wirklich frustrierend, dass die eine relevante Komponente in meiner Wohnung, bei der ich proprietäre SW in Kauf genommen habe, wesentlich schlechter maintained wird als die kostenlosen/freien.

I just checked the user’s guide https://www.sonos.com/en-us/guides/sonosapp, thinking that maybe I’m just too stupid for the #sonosapp. Whoa! It’s crazy what features it allegedly has.
Too bad that most of the menu items supposedly under System Settings → Manage aren’t actually there (AirPlay? Alarms? Audio Compression? Date & Time?), and those that are there don’t have the claimed functionality (e.g., you can’t actually set the wifi channel in Network).

Went to set my alarm on #SonosApp and the app had been "updated". I couldn't find the alarm. "They must have moved it" I naively thought to myself. Turns out it is gone from the #Android app. Turns out they've completely destroyed the app. I reinstalled an apk but the app tells my I need to uograde.
I thought I was buying a Bluetooth speaker from #IKEA. I didn't know anything about #Sonos. I was completely fooled into buying this locked down piece of ... hardware.
Any #Jailbreak available?
