I once worked on a software project for #trump #casinos. We built a wicked functional demo for their #rfp.
Trump bought 3 casinos, each one was run on its own #AS400 mainframe in the basement of each site.
My team created a web app that pretended to be an AS400 terminal. We mapped out all the locations on each screen where text would appear or be entered, and using "screen scraping", we'd automate the remote system, pushing & pulling data between the web app and the 50 year old mainframe.
This allowed a booking agent to pull up the app, and check availability etc at not just one, but all three properties at once.
It was brilliant software. I had never even seen a line of #cSharp before that project, but I left with a profound respect for it.
Trump being Trump, he lost or sold one or two of those properties before we could sell them our solution, and the whole thing went nowhere.
