Right out of my easel, soft pastel portrait of #sinead R.I.P.
This painting was commissioned by one local woman and it was a privilege for me to paint Sinead. I have admired her since I was a very young girl.

Beside my encaustic painting I regularly challenge myself in order to develop portrait skills and explore techniques from old masters to achieve real skin tones.

'Green Hazelnuts on a Contorted Branch' has just been completed in soft pastels. The model is a shrub from my own garden. I planted it several years ago and really love the twists and turns taken by the branches as they grow.
