Je viens de finaliser l'encadrement. C'était important pour moi de fabriquer et peindre la caisse américaine moi-même. Pourquoi ? Parce que je veux que le cadre soit un prolongement de l'œuvre, pas une barrière : le Gardien se trouve dans la pièce, libre.

Chatted to a friend about ‘slow art’ last night: an idea I’m getting increasingly passionate about (from aesthetic, environmental, political, even existential perspectives).
As much as it’s about getting more out of an art work, I think it also liberates the self in all sorts of interesting ways.

Just a little work in progress inspired by the Venus Girdle (Cestum Veneris), which is a ribbon-shaped comb jelly found in the Mediterranean Sea. I haven't figured out yet if I will be adding more to this one or letting it stand the way it is all nice and simple.

There’s a wonderful artist and teacher, Amy from Mindful Art Studio, who teaches classes on drawing easy, slow, repeating patterns similar to the stones I’ve been drawing. The activity is meditative and very relaxing. She has a free class an FB happening at 10am PDT today (that’s in about 25 min). You only need pen and paper.
