I never really thought about cartridges and their physical content. I guess I assumed that there was some data sitting around, waiting to be read by the console. Basically like a CD-ROM.
Turns out: They also have their own processors. Apparently, some of the late SNES games came with processing power that was about 5x more than the actual #SNES had on its own. Imagine an SD- or SIM Card outperforming your phone. 😄

For this #SNESFriday I booted up the first #Tetris game I've ever played: Tetris 2! I would learn later that this version of Tetris is a little different from the original variety, mainly because this plays a bit more like Dr. Mario with tetrominoes - Tetris standard and otherwise. Solo or 2-player, one can play this game for a good while.

For SNES Friday I bought my first Super Famicom console! I plan on streaming some Game Boy games on it, and just generally think it's a cute addition to my collection.

For this #SNESFriday I want to bring up a game from childhood - Bugs Bunny: Rabbit Rampage. It's a Looney Tunes game in which Bugs Bunny faces off against other characters, such as Elmer Fudd, Wile E. Coyote, and Daffy Duck. I had a rough time getting to the final boss as a kid due to no save feature, no password function, and not knowing that you could increase your starting life counter to 10. It's a fun test of platforming skills for anyone who enjoys Looney Tunes.

Besides some more #RushHour, I also finished my very irregular #SuperMarioWorld playthrough today. It performs surprisingly well, even on a big screen.
I just took the most organic route, which I think was pretty fast, overall. So I missed quite a few levels, I think. Well, this way I can coincidentally post this on #SNESFriday. 😅

For SNES Friday I have a game that I have mixed feelings about:
Street Fighter II Turbo for the SNES was the game that all my friends talked about. As someone who has bad reaction timing and coordination issues friends would invite me to play... For about two games and then I would go back to watching.
It wasn't until the last couple years that I tried the original Street Fighter II and really enjoyed it!

Because, as always, it's still Friday in some place, here's my #SnesFriday / #SufamiFriday , part of #ShareYourGames and #365DaysOfGaming !
Shin Megami Tensei (Sufami/SNES) is one of the greatest SMT Game I played. Back then and now. It has all the bases of modern SMT mainline (dungeon crawling, demon summoning/fusion, demon recruitment / negotiation) and the usual turn-based battle system.
I want to replay this, but it's quite hard to find the legit way to reply it in English, save for using the EN Cartridge. Maybe sometime later. For now i feel blessed to find this game on my collection.

Another #SNESFriday, another anecdote.
Back in elementary school, I was guest on a birthday party. Later in the day, the remaining kids gathered in birthday boy's room and we started playing #GoofTroop in 2-player mode.
The rules were simple: Who died had to pass on the controller. With one short intermission, I ended up playing the whole time. 😅 Another kid, who didn't like me then, ended up finishing up the game with me.
Suddenly, we were buddies the next day. #ShareYourGames #VideoGames

After being mildly obsessed with Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat as a kid, when I started seeing previews for ClayFighter in Electronic Gaming Monthly and GamePro, I convinced myself that this would be the next big fighting game to rule over my life.
I finally got my hands on it and while it never lived up to the hype I had let build up, it was decent and good for a laugh. I think I mained Bad Mr. Frosty, which just sounds like it’s code for something wrong.

Gonna date myself for #SNESFriday. This is my most vivid gaming memory.
As a kid, I went to 7-11 one day and they had a new arcade game. Yes, 7-11 used to have arcade games.
Anyway! The game was Street Fighter II.
A year and many quarters later, I’m at my dad’s for the summer. Down the street is a mall with a Software Etc. I would walk there and spend literally all day every day playing their demo unit of the SNES game until it was released that August. Beau, if you’re out there, I’m sorry.

Oooh, it's #SNESFriday! Today I want to share... Uniracers! Did I play it as a kid? No! Did I play it on emulator as an adult? Also no!
Then why? Because years before I had a SNES of my own, I would buy issues of a few videogame magazines. In one of them there was a guide for the different tracks in the game. I spent so much time imagining how I would play them, that I memorised several tracks. Because that's what kids obsessed with a game but not the console to play it do 😅

For #SNESFriday I wanted to share one of my favourite games for the system, SimCity.
Heavily supported by Nintendo, this game was fun to play and is still pretty available today. It had its own features, such as the Dr. Wright character, and Bowser replaced Godzilla.

Oh, so we're having a #SNESFriday? Didn't see it on the United Nations list of special days, but hey, great! 😄
The #SNES was my first console. I think I was six or seven when I got it. And I think I can remember that my father drove to a store with me, bought it, drove me home and I spent the evening playing #SuperMarioWorld. Which, funnily enough, is still a game that's very much playable. Definitely kicked off my gaming saga that's still going strong.

I've got some fond memories of the classics, but my favourite memories of this console come from #PopnTwinbee.
The game was a sort of Bullet-Hell 'lite' where you play as a spaceship thing and shoot...fruit and veg? As a kid I'd spend hours playing with my younger brother. We'd never get very far (He was 4, I was 7), but we'd always have a good time.
Does anyone else remember this staple of my early gaming years?
