6:00AM: 55F, overcast.
My heavy rain has turned to probable showers. But hey - there's a possibility of a thunderstorm!
-
6:15AM: 56F, overcast.
After a delightfully rainy day yesterday, there are more showers in store today...and tomorrow...and most likely on Tuesday too.
We are back to being a rain forest, baby!
-
6:00AM: 55F, light rain/fog
Well, halle-effing-lujah, the rain has come!
Two systems are pushing their way through. One right now & one on Monday that is bringing even heavier rain!. The next time sun is in the forecast is Wednesday.
My cup runneth over....with rain. 😉 👍 😇
(The only downside? Our street's potluck is today!)
-
6:00AM: 49F, clear-ish.
Whelp, as each day passes my heavy rain stays just one day away.
Boooooo!!
-
6:00AM: 54F, overcast.
We had some rain during the night, but it should be clearing to another mostly sunny day.
Looks like a lovely weekend ahead, though.
Rain, rain, rain!
-
6:00AM: 49F, a few clouds.
The rain for Friday & Saturday has changed to "heavy rain."
I'm counting the days until the sun goes away again.
Speaking of the sun going away, Dolly Parton died yesterday, which is enough to make any day incredibly dark and sad.
-
5:45AM: 49F, fair.
A mix of sun and possible showers, with "real" rain forecast for the weekend.
We can but hope.
-
A Sitka rose. The blooming season is fast coming to an end.
-
5:45AM: 54F, overcast.
Some sun coming back mid-week. Then off & on maybe/kinda/sorta chance of showers/cloudy/booooring!
When I woke up this morning, I found myself wishing for our October/November storms!

A thing I did today on a local hill named, funnily enough, Waterside Hill.
It is along the #SouthernUplandWay and has recently been planted with trees for the first time in a long time.
Only some of the trees are not #sitka .

6:00AM: 54F, overcast.
Showers today - the main rain is staying south of us.
As long as it's cloudy, I'm all good. 😉
-
6:00AM: 57F, overcast.
Rain likely, then rain for the next few days.
I'm here for it.
'Nuff said.
-
5:45AM: 58F, light rain, fog/mist.
The NWS is leading me on a roller-coaster. Last night all the "rain" had changed to only "showers" for the next few days. Now "rain" is back for Sunday and Monday.
Weather is a fickle mistress.

6:00AM: 57F, fog/mist
Rain likely, then rain, rain, rain. Yay! 🥳 🎉
In honor of all the folks in Tok, who are experiencing the devastating aftermath of wild fire, I'm attaching a moose pic. This was taken across the road from my first house in Tok. I used to joke there was nothing north of us but the Arctic.
-
5:45AM: 55F, overcast.
"Rain" and "rain likely" as far as the eye can see in the forecast.
Once again, all is right in the world.
Hopefully salmon will soon be thick in the streams.
-
6:00AM: 55F, overcast.
Our showers yesterday were actually real rain, although I don't know how much we received. The forecast has gone from showers to rain at the end of the week, so fingers crossed for the salmon!
Terrible fire in Tok yesterday. Several of my friends lost their homes. They will know more about the devastation this morning. Tok did receive 2 hours of hard rain that helped in the fire suppression.
-
5:45AM: 60F, light rain, fog/mist.
Woke up at 3 to the sound of rain. Showers continued for a couple of hours. Not a pour-down, drenching-type rain, so I don't think it will have much effect on the salmon.
But hope springs eternal.
-
6:00AM: 53F, fog.
The fog is no joke. Last night it rolled in SO fast! The night flight in from Seattle had to turn around at Sitka and fly back. A little over 2 hours turned into 4 1/2. Not a fun time.
This morning the 6AM flight was outright cancelled.
John was out fishing yesterday and fought the fog the whole time. Fishing alone (mostly steering, running a line occasionally) is dangerous.
He's coming in today.
-
5:30AM: 56F, fair.
Sun today, high near 70F.
We may get showers Monday. Eh.
I'll enjoy what little precipitation we get, but it's not the full-throated rain that's needed.
No real rain for the rest of the week either.
-
6:00AM: 56F, a few high clouds.
High of 74F today. Heat advisories all around us - SEAK getting into the mid-80's. Ugh.
-
So excited about my first kombucha batch! A long winter is coming...maybe I should try beer! This fermentation thing is fun!
-
5:45AM: 53F, sun.
Not even a marine layer this morning. Just clear skies and sun.
High in the mid-70s today.
And tomorrow.
And Saturday.
Near 70 on Sunday.
Awful, awful weather with no real rain in sight through next Wednesday.
-
6:15AM: 58F, overcast.
Sunny today - high near 70F.
Heat advisories for Skagway/Haines and then clear down at Ketchikan and Prince of Wales.
Highs may climb to the mid-80's.
Help! Send rain. (Hell - at this point, send snow!)
-
5:45AM: 58F, overcast.
Weather is such a tease. Every morning it's lovely and dark, then the marine layer burns off and the it's sunny all day.
But...sweet baby Jesus...a high of 74F on Thursday and Friday!
Both I and the salmon are not amused.
-
5:45AM: 55, mostly clear.
Just an all around crap forecast. We have sun and highs inching close to 70 by the end of the week.
I'm not being alarmist when I say if we don't get several inches of rain soon, the salmon will start dying before they ever spawn.
This is seriously awful weather for SE Alaska at this time of year.
-
6:45AM: 55, mostly cloudy (although my window-weather says mostly sunny.)
No rain in sight.
I expect tumbleweeds blowing through the streets soon.
Tumbling Devil's Club?
-
6:00AM: 55F, overcast.
Small chance of a shower or two this weekend, partly sunny at the beginning of the week.
The sameness....I feel like I'm in a Wes Anderson film.
-
6:00AM: 56F, overcast.
Slight chance of drizzle today.
As I'm sure you've noticed, I've run out of ways to make the forecast fun.
Sigh. I'll check my bag of tricks and hopefully come up with something tomorrow.
Until then - Happy Friday!
