Recently there was this Commentary about my humble attempt to refute the #SimulationHypothesis using physics:
https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/physics/articles/10.3389/fphy.2026.1808725/full
I don't take issue with that and it's a fair paper, although we are clearly debating different things.
Anyway, I took a look the profiles of the two authors:
1. "Philosophy, simulation theory, Bitcoin, and Panarchy."
2. "Cyborg anthropology..transhumansim scholar..western occultism.."
Just saying, I am happy I wrote my paper.

Forget about the #SimulationHypothesis and other infections of the mind:
here is the joy of rock solid #electromagnetism, which induces parcels of iron to bounce on a plate and align according to the magnetic field lines of two magnets put just below the plate (in todays EM class)

There is a clash of scholar cultures here, which is fair. I tested the versions of the #SimulationHypothesis (SH) that can be tested using physics, as clearly explained in the article (and my last commenters get it), as in the "Matrix" scenario. Solipsistic version of the SH cannot be tested, at least I could not figure out how, nor versions in which the simulation happens in entirely different universes, and this is discussed too (and my commenters get it too).

Ops, I was wrong and we might live in a simulation after all 😳
See this commentary by Edge &Brownhttps://www.frontiersin.org/journals/physics/articles/10.3389/fphy.2026.1808725/full
of my article of last year:https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/physics/articles/10.3389/fphy.2025.1561873/full
sorry all...
Jokes aside, it seems we can circle forever in an endless loop of "you miss the point" "NO you miss the point" and keep writing papers about..which means the #SimulationHypothesis gas entered the standard of normal publishing in #physics 😂
I stand by my take...

Some seemingly sophisticated argument for the #SimulationHypothesis by "techbros" (Musk being the most eminent one) use this basic logic :
"in the past we moved at the speed of a few km/h, then we invented cars and reached 100km/h, than airplanes and we reached 1000km/h...even with the smallest rate of progress, it is unavoidable that in the future we will exceed even speed of light! Just deal with it"
...similar fallacy arguing for this reality being a simulation.

Someone asks me why do I even care about the #SimulationHypothesis .
Take this example though:
you'r the richest person on the planet. Surely not the smartest, but incredibly influential. In the hypothetical scenario posed by the interviewer, you get only one question to ask the first Artificial General Intelligence machine.
What do you ask? How to reduce inequalities? How to stop global heating? What's before the Big Bang? How to cure cancer? No, you ask... -

Public seminar given yesterday in #Bologna,
https://mastodon.social/@franco_vazza/116012540885630944
nice turnout of people and with also several "young" people with a background in humanistics who asked a few interesting (and hard to answer!!) questions.
Do we live in a simulation? -> NO, I think we can prove we cannot be in a "Matrix" scenario of being simulated by future descendants in this Universe.
But this allows me to show again this cool intro I have done with #Prezi

By the way, happening tomorrow in #Bologna
https://www.oas.inaf.it/events/conferenza-alla-specola-universo-simulato/
"Do we live in a simulated universe?"
by yours truely.
[in case you don't come, I can share a little spoiler: NO, WE DON'T]
