This is the race track - didnt upload well as #Shuttleworth the data coverage was not good today- the mini drones drive almost to fast to follow - they can only go one way through the flag arches and must loop them all without crashing into the poles or each other!

"You should just use #Ubuntu because it's the easiest one" - this is propaganda for #Shuttleworth and tells me you haven't tried any other distro - or that you use #Arch.
#LinuxMint is fantastic still, #Fedora is my go to recommendation, but with #uBlue and #Bazzite we see a new era of usability focused #distributions.
Add to that the fact that #snaps are a centralizes repository with no third party vendors, and you've got a #vendorlockin.
Ubuntu is the #anticonsumer distribution as a result.

Mir ist ja eine c't als Belegexemplar zugefallen, und es ist wie nach 20 Jahren(!) eine alte Freundin zu treffen, die sich sogar ganz erstaunlich treu geblieben ist. Besonders gut gefällt mir, dass sie nicht in Werbung ersäuft. Aber Leute, zieht ihr euch wirklich im 14-Tages-Rhythmus diese unglaublichen Textwüsten rein? Ich werde mir das #Shuttleworth-Interview mit meinem #CreativeCommons-Foto darin heute vornehmen, da ich Kunden habe, die nach #Ubuntu-Strategiedingen fragen, aber uff. 🤯

Bei #Ubuntu und #Shuttleworth gab und gibt es von Beginn an Bedenken, ob das Projekt nicht vorsätzlich die Integrität von #Debian schwächen sollte:
Unter dem Vorwand besonderer Einfachheit wurde proprietäre Software als "lässliche Sünde" akzeptiert, mit der sich "Sprengstoff-gleich" Bugdoors im Umfeld des sonst vollständig überprüfbaren Debians platzieren ließen.
Zudem konnten mit den vielen Millionen US-$ natürlich auch Debian-Entwickler:innen umworben/abgeworben werden.
