#TheSecretLifeofPets is in a niche I was never into: Family “funny #pet” #films. My second least-favorite #movie of all time, #ShowDogs, is in that niche. The Secret Life of Pets, however, pleasantly surprised me with its #endearing #story and #characters, and stellar #animation.

I was particularly astonished by how #dark this movie could get, at least relatively for #Illumination movies. One of the leads deals with his old owner’s #death, and the whole underground #gang of rejected #animals that wants to overthrow humans is amazing. A great #furry movie.

And next time on the #IlluminationMarathon, we have… #singing #furries?!
