    The #rosechafer #Cetonia #aurata (#Scarabaeidae) is distributed across #Europe and parts of #Asia. The #larvae develop in #decaying #treestumps, #compost, or #antnests. F. Karolyi et al. (2008) used #cryoSEM and discovered that in adult beetles, the #secretion-covered #setae on the #galeae (a #mouthparts component) trap #pollen, a previously unknown #mechanism. #Evolution
