@petersmithca The only paper I subscribed to before 2022 was Examiner. I have all the swag. The CH was dead to me, but I did sign up for digital read for my wife. I only look at Obituaries and am offended by #Saltwire monetizing advertisements in people's memorial announcements. Ethically, I'd rather not support them. But Examiner doesn't rebroadcast AP news, they do investigative work that I appreciate more. I want them to succeed because they are better than the rest

Been to many holiday parades in other cities, so I'm not sure if this is a #Halifax tradition or this is what people can expect, post- "Freedom Convoy". Now I know how the people of Ottawa felt all those weeks.Someone needs to tell the #Saltwire organizers: a cacaphony of sirens and horns doesn't = holiday joy.
(Also sad to see that the guy they had "guarding" the unmarked "reserved" bleachers was a bit awkward/rude. Saw him disappoint many families.)

People go to hear holiday music, laughter, and hellos, not to hear a cacaphony of sirens and horns.It drowned out so much of the good noise that we saw many families with young children leave, rather than wait for Santa's arrival. :(
