  1. @greenpeace

NDP politician said Carney must not burn the world, and a reporter laughed and asked if he really meant Carney was trying to "burn the world"

The answer is yes. Yes is the answer.

Carney does not have our permission.
    We THOUGHT he was sane.

  3. I don't read it every day, but I support it ever day, in my subscription. A good bang for buck.

8 people cancelled subscriptions, did they read the whole article?

How about 20 more people, sitting on the fence, subscribe and support Halifax Examiner ?

Good journalism needs you. Will you help?

DISCLAIMER: I am not affiliated in any way, other than I am a long-time subscriber (I have the T-shirt), and I know where Tim lives, but that's it. But, there are other journalists that make the team, and they are all good.

I just want to put in a proper PLUG for the Examiner, and tell you, there's no other news source I feel this passionate about. It's small, but it does BIG work, please boost this you don't have to live in Halifax to subscribe and not all the articles are about Halifax.

If you don't agree, tell me why?

I don't support violence either, but #Tim Houston is a dick, and angers a lot of Nova Scotians beyond common sense reaction. Just vote the lying bastard out #NSPoli

  7. I condemn all political violence. I condemn the closure of libraries and cutting of programs and the ending of grants that are acts of structural violence against the people of Nova Scotia, that absolutley does lead to people dying. I condemn the premier's driver using a vehicle as a weapon against peaceful protestors. Some minor property damage that doesn't hurt anyone is a reasonable response to these acts of violence. #NSPoli

  9. 'On June 24, City Council in Hamilton advanced a motion to place a one-year moratorium on data centre developments, with no loopholes and with the possibility of a year-long extension. A final bylaw is expected at the July 15 council meeting. That means all three proposed data centres in Hamilton — including Slate’s hyperscaler — are on hold.'

'This is a major and possibly unprecedented win in Canada, and it came directly as a response to the growing backlash from local residents.'

“I think that every single municipality across the country should be asking for this framework”

The budget introduces a $500 registration fee for battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and $250 for hybrids, payable every two years upon renewal. The levy takes effect October 1"

  25. Hey Nova Scotia, a small thread about something politically very troubling we all need to prepare for. The more I think about it, the more I start thinking about how Houston's govt is moving. Yes, they have a supermajority, but, like, no one likes what they're doing. Follow me here...1/ #nspoli

  26. TIL one of the things the #NovaScotia government cut for literal billionaire yacht money was Provincial Heritage Fair. Heritage fair is like a science fair but instead it's about Canadian culture and heritage. This was my kid's first year. They did ravens. They were 1 vote from making it to provincials (4th place). Now I don't know if they'll ever get a chance again. #NSPoli

  28. I wear my bluetooth headphones all day.
It's been raining buckets all day and I saw a break, and put some plants out to enjoy the rain. I went about quietly cleaning (my wife is asleep) and I kept CONNECT/DISCONNECTING from the Bluetooth? I disconnected the PC, the Chromebook, and it still did it.

It had to be my phone? I'm usually listening to music or audiobooks and carrying a phone is unnecessary here. There's no cellular but Bluetooth reaches a quarter of the acreage. My phone could be anywhere, I'd lose signal in the basement, and upstairs sometimes. Not in the cars, that was wet...

During one of the heaviest downpours, I saw it. In in temporary puddle all its own, case leaking water, face up, still showed notifications. I've been so lucky with this phone. Last summer, I dropped it in the ocean, helping launch a boat for someone. Still ticking, Still no cellular #NSPoli

  34. The Nova Scotia government seems to be as qualified as the Trump administration.
#TimHouston accused First Nations of selling Fentanyl laced cannabis, because he gets his information from facebook. Now they are still attacking them, and the RCMP aren't buying it. There's no evidence of any of this. Trump and Tim Houston saw something on TV and had a knee-jerk reaction, because that's what happens to the knees of Jerks. 😆

  35. 67% of Nova Scotians want more protected areas. This comes as Tim Houston breaks terms of the Nature Fund Agreement NS has with the Federal agreement, lays off conservation staff and starts talking about fracking and uranium mining.

I've started hearing lifelong conservatives muttering and shaking their head at the mention of his name.

  36. Court rules Tim Houston's access ban in 2025 was illegal. Unfortunately the court did not examine whether banning actions which have never caused wildfires (such as cycling), ignoring things which can, and removing the people who report 90% of wildfires from the forest was effective and reasonable policy. They only looked at whether charter rights were considered at all. Which they were not.
