I condemn all political violence. I condemn the closure of libraries and cutting of programs and the ending of grants that are acts of structural violence against the people of Nova Scotia, that absolutley does lead to people dying. I condemn the premier's driver using a vehicle as a weapon against peaceful protestors. Some minor property damage that doesn't hurt anyone is a reasonable response to these acts of violence. #NSPoli

'On June 24, City Council in Hamilton advanced a motion to place a one-year moratorium on data centre developments, with no loopholes and with the possibility of a year-long extension. A final bylaw is expected at the July 15 council meeting. That means all three proposed data centres in Hamilton — including Slate’s hyperscaler — are on hold.'
'This is a major and possibly unprecedented win in Canada, and it came directly as a response to the growing backlash from local residents.'
“I think that every single municipality across the country should be asking for this framework”

Part 2 to go up when I need them to at least minimally wet again (they only ever do a barely half assed single streak up one bit of the road the moment I call out on Facebook)

The Energy & Utility Board of New Brunswick has approved a 500 MWh methane/diesel powered electric generating plant on the environmentally sensitive Chignecto Isthmus that connects Nova Scotia to the mainland and is an important migratory route for species at risk.
Let's stop it before it's too late!

Meanwhile, in Nova Scotia, Canada
"The Nova Scotia budget released this week makes owning an electric vehicle in the province more expensive.
The budget introduces a $500 registration fee for battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and $250 for hybrids, payable every two years upon renewal. The levy takes effect October 1"
