Another gaming disappointment. Sacred 2 got a remaster on Steam and consoles, and as someone who really enjoyed the game in the past (Temple Guardian and his spiky monowheel o' doom forever) I was hopeful that it would at least play like the original but more stable.
According to the reviews, it is buggy and the UI/controls are a mess. I hope they patch this stuff but I'm not holding my breath.

Wenig überraschend habe ich mit #Linux / #CachyOS keine Probleme beim #Sacred2Remaster auf die Bildrate des Bildschirms zu kommen, anders als bei #Windows, wo ich nur etwa die Hälfte der FPS habe, wenn überhaupt.
Ich kann nur komischerweise nicht mit den typischen Umgebungsvariablen die Framerate begrenzen. Heißt also weder mit VKD3D_FRAME_RATE, DXVK_FRAME_RATE noch mit strangle.

Nachdem ich einigen Leuten auf #Twitch zugesehen habe, wie sie #Sacred2remaster gespielt haben, kam ich zum Schluss, dass mir Sacred 2 Gold genügt, das ich bereits besitze. Ich kann für mich vorerst keine Vorteile im Remaster erkennen.

Also die Performance des #Sacred2Remaster ist ein absolutes Desaster. Eigentlich sollte ich in der Lage sein, es mit höchsten Details auf 1080p und 144 FPS zu spielen, aber offenbar frisst das Spiel die Performance auf.

Nach dem Remaster ist vor dem Spin-off: Sacred erhält nicht nur eine Neuauflage des zweiten Teils, sondern auch einen Ableger im 16-Bit-Stil. Im April 2026 soll die Kickstarter-Kampagne erfüllt werden.
