Navalny's analyses are extremely interesting. He sees Putin as frightened by the risk of a democratic revolution in Russia:

and that the tightening authoritarian steps since late 2020 are destabilising Russia:

"People are frightened, but they are growing politicized beneath the surface."

Seems like the US and NATO have given written statements to Russia, but the statements are *secret*!!! This is ridiculous in the age of the internet: irc, ftp, https, git, matrix and even gafam communicators. Can anyone find the statements online?

From a purely utilitarian persective, remember Hume's Paradox: No way to convince ordinary Russians that the West is being reasonable by making secret statements.

  3. Hume's paradox: Putin needs popular cooperation, despite being a dictator.

What do ordinary Russians think of the #RussiaUkraineCrisis / #RussiaNATOCrisis ?

14 Dec 2021: "Only 4 percent consider Russia to be responsible for escalating tensions." 50% blame US + NATO, 16% blame Ukraine.

"A version of the combination of three attack vectors is currently being considered: #SupplyChainAttack and exploitation of #OctoberCMS [1] and #Log4j [2] vulnerabilities." [hashtags added] [3]

October CMS split to non-free branch in April 2021; runs on php.

"The Russians have demanded the US give written comments on the draft agreements that Moscow published in December, which include the proposed limits on Nato. It is not clear yet whether Washington will submit those written responses summing up its objections."

Will #WWIII start just because the US insists on verbal blabla rather than the written word? Presenting rational arguments and evidence requires written text.
