Holy shit it happened! My very first Thirteen Orphans! I had a very good starting hand for this, as I ended up calling Riichi waiting on the North Wind on my second discard. And I wasn't in the North seat, which made it clear that I was most likely gonna get it at some point, because "Well of course I'm not gonna get Ron'd off of a North Wind".

This was also the second round of the game, so no one had enough points yet to survive having to pay 32000 points.

I haven't won a game of Riichi Mahjong on either Riichi City nor Mahjong Soul in a few days. What a way to win for the first time in a while!!!

I just had a Mahjong game in which I had 4 consecutive rounds with me trying a half flush or full flush in the bamboo suit. And it's not like I was forcing it for the bit, I just genuinely got a lot of bamboo all those times.

There was even almost a fifth. The only reason I didn't go for it, despite having all bamboo except 3 tiles of characters (and nothing of circles) was because the 3 tiles of characters were 2-3-4, so that was a completed sequence that I didn't wanna break apart for the greed.

Still, 4 rounds alone is crazy enough.

Pretty insane streak of luck (as well as some skill), made it to 4th Dan in 49 games with a win rate of almost 50%

Also, I used up a lot of tickets on the gacha for this character, but I didn't get her. Now I don't have any tickets left, nor time, since she's going away in slightly over 9 hours.
But the main reason I really wanted her was because she reminds me of Mutsumi. Hair color and expression matches! Also the more quiet voice. Mutsumi specifically, not Mortis, she'd have a different expression.

Do we know if Hizuki will be added to the main gacha pool afterwards? Cause if so, it won't be impossible for me to get her in the future, just a lot less likely, since there's a higher chance of getting her for now.

But yeah, this is as close to an Ave Mujica collab as possible without having an actual Ave Mujica collab ​:TamakoLaugh:​

Or win. That's also a possibility, it seems! I won my first game in the Sun room! I was ahead of 2nd place only by 1800 points, so not a lot, and also of course a sample size of one singular game doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things... but I'll still praise myself for a first game-first win achievement in a higher room!

OH! I was just playing Riichi City and, while I knew I was close to ranking up and that I would if I were to get 1st or 2nd (and I did indeed get 2nd), I didn't remember which rank unlocks the Sun room. Apparently it's the 4th Dan, which I just reached!

Time to join a game there and (probably) get absolutely destroyed ​:neocat_laugh_sweat:​

Ever since the Akagi collab update, Riichi City is kinda acting weird for me. I don't see why adding 4 new characters would mess everything up tho, it's not as if they massively revamped the graphics. My game keeps going "Not Responding" when I'm to join a game. Problem is that I'm being loaded into the game, but I can't interact with it for a good 2-3 minutes. The game auto-discards whatever I draw, and eventuaaaally it starts working.

More or less it works as usual after that. But in Riichi Mahjong, where I have, multiple times, won or lost because of even just 100 points, a "sabotaged" first round can still have an impact on the ultimate result...

Is anyone else dealing or have dealt in the past with this? I've been playing and updating the game by downloading it directly from their site, but now I'm gonna try and see if it works better if I play it through Steam? I don't know, I'm gonna give it a try.

Haven't played Riichi City in the past couple weeks, but I've now returned because of the Steins;Gate collab.

I just did a 10 pull using all the pink tickets I had and... no way did I just get Kurisu already?!

Now, of course, I want Okabe as well, but even if I won't make it, I'm still super content with this!

Riichi City is collabing with my favorite anime?! I currently have 6 pink tickets for gacha. Those are 100% not being used until after the collab starts later this month. I'm gonna pull like crazy for Okabe and Kurisu, as much as possible without spending real money. I can live without Mayuri and Suzuha, but I want Okabe and Kurisu! Two of my favorite anime characters from my favorite anime!

Gifts? Who cares? I'm converting all of them into the currency that gives you more pink tickets if need be!

I just had a wild Riichi City game.

It was a South game, so there were 8 rounds to play (not counting any possible replays when the dealer wins). At South 4, I was in 4th place, and if I just won that round, I think I might've jumped all the way to 1st, as 1st was only 4600 points ahead of me. I need to check the logs to see what hand I had exactly and whether winning was a possibility or not.

Unfortunately, someone else won, Ron-ing the player in 3rd. I, once again, had hope. If the winner were to have had a 3 han hand and therefore take 3000 points away from the third place, then I would end up in 3rd instead of 4th. Still not great, but better than last.

Unfortunately, they only had a 2000 points hand, meaning I was 1000 points away from 3rd still. That was South 4, I accepted getting 4th, only to see... West 1. I hadn't even realized, but nobody was over 30k points, meaning the game can't end yet.

So I went all out. I was already in 4th in what was most likely the last round anyway. With a player in Riichi and another seemingly going for a flush, I nonetheless discarded even the freaking dora (granted, the dora was not in the suit the flush player was going for, but it was still dangerous for the other 2 players, especially what with one of them having called Riichi already).

And I won. With a Seat Wind, Round Wind, and All Triplets. The game ended with me in first!

The player in Riichi won off the same tile as I did, but they had a smaller hand, and even while they were slightly ahead at the beginning of the round in terms of points, I still jumped ahead. And not only did I win, I won at exactly 30k points. If I didn't have one of the yaku I had, either by not having All Triplets, either by not having, say, the Seat Wind (if I were on any other seat), I would have won the round but ended with less than 30k and we'd have gone on to West 2, with the game still up for anyone's grabs.

South 4 and West 1 were a rollercoaster of emotions! ​:akko_yay:​

Sometimes the Tsumo happens so fast in Riichi City, to the point where, when the player following me wins via Tsumo, I always panick for a second thinking it's a Ron, that's how fast it happens after my discard. I'm assuming they have Auto-Ron turned on, cause by the time my brain registers that what was said is "Tsumo" and not "Ron", I'm already panicked ​:neocat_laugh:​

I think this is the Mahjong gods apologizing for my losing streak that lasted almost a week. And if so, apology accepted!

75100 points? I have never seen such a high amount of points in Riichi Mahjong, held neither by me nor my opponents. I'm sure this has been achieved before many times, I'm not pretending to have set any kind of record here. I'm simply pointing out that this is the first time since I've started playing that I've seen points over 70k. Over 60k I've witnessed before, though.

Heck, I actually had 77100 going into South 4, but the player in 2nd Tsumo'd and I had to pay 2000. Admittedly, this was a South game, so it lasted longer than an East game, but even then, usually whenever someone (usually not me ​:neocat_laugh_sweat:​) dominates, someone else sooner rather than later goes into negative points, thus ending the game. Here, someone did go into the negatives, but only in South 4 after the aforementioned Tsumo.

I haven't played Mahjong is quite a while. Definitely not this year, until just now.

Just now I played on Riichi City, as I'm still not sure which one, between it and Mahjong Soul, is better, so I'm just experimenting right now.

Aaaanyway, I received three lucky tickets after I explored the game's menus, and I managed to successfully pull for Enomiya Mio. And on the last ticket too.

I looked through the character list, and she has my favorite design out of everyone so far. And she's voiced by one of my favorite voice actresses, Aoi Yuuki!

After seeing @coffeentacos' post about #MahjongSoul, I decided to finally look over the rules again and play, cause I haven't played in like a year and even back then, when it was my first time, I had only played for maybe a couple weeks.

I played some games in Soul, but then I heard about #RiichiCity, which apparently has a better ranking system, so I installed that one too. I'm just taking the internet's word on it, cause I'm no expert in how the rankings should work.
Also Riichi City supposedly is better in the gacha aspect without paying. But at the end of the day it's purely cosmetics that don't influence the game in any way.
