#RightToRepair should be enough but it's not because it gets (re)interpreted as
"a right to get it repaired by a licensed & authorise repair shop"
We need better!
We need a #RightToSalvage w/o having to ask permission or pay for authorisation
We need a #RightToInteroperability so things work together
We need a #RightToPreserve to keep our culture from disappearing
We need a #RightToEncryption to have a private life
We need a #RightToInformation to get the schematics, repair manuals, etc

If I was the EU:
I'd get as far away from USA tech, economy, & thinking, become as incompatible as possible
I'd expand consumer laws: #RightToRepair, #RightToSalvage, #RightToInteroperability, #RightToPreserve, #RightToEncryption, #RightToHack, etc…
Rewrite tax laws so that you can only get a tax write-off on anything digital if you release it as open source
I'd massively invest in alternatives for the internet, which don't use the internet protocol stack, like meshcore, reticulum, etc…

#DigitalIndependence starts with moving away from proprietary software and switching to #OpenSource
Next, perhaps learn to write small programs which can be combined and work together?
And we need better #PropertyRights: #RightToRepair #RightToSalvage w/o asking permission, approval, or authorisation #RightToInteroperability #RightToTinker #RightToEncryption #RightToDIY w/o middlemen

Government, Organisations, Companies, etc should work towards #DigitalSovereignty & #DigitalIndependence) since given their size they can leverage law in their contracts with other parties
Natural persons, (found) families, informal communities usually lack leverage of any kind and should work towards #DigitalIndependence
