Creating boxplots and boxplot time series based on raster data: a blogpost in which I provide examples of how to use the t.rast.boxplot, r.boxplot and r.series.boxplot add-ons for GRASS GIS.

You can use the functions in GRASS through a GUI, from the command line, as a Python script, or as an R script with the #rgrass interface.
