  1. I brought #ReworkCTF boards to #EMFCamp.

If you want to improve your soldering skills for repairing and reworking circuits, this is the right project for you.
The two areas of the board are a (working) Rpi-Pico and the challenge area with 18 well documented defects that want to get fixed.
The challenges focus around replacing components and cutting/changing copper tracks.

One is 10..15£, get it from me at HardwareHackingArea (Workshop3) where I am mostly handing out.

  2. I have ordered a new batch of #ReworkCTF pico boards for future workshops. Possibly at #EMFCamp

And as always, JLCPCB fixed one of the intentional mistakes. They did remove the solder mask on both pads of R20. In the design, one of the pads is masked, the challenge is to gently scrape it free and then solder a component down.

The frustrating part is that its exactly the same error as last time. And they just don't understand it.

  3. This year at #fosdem I brought some #ReworkCTF boards. I will be hanging out mostly in H1309.

  4. This year at #38C3 there will be #ReworkCTF boards available again at the #HardwareHackingArea

  6. Hey #emfcamp crowd 🦈
If you want to improve your PCB repair and soldering skills, the #ReworkCTF project might be for you.
There are 18 soldering challenges of various difficulty. All documented should you get stuck and need help.
The board is also a RasbperryPi-Pico once you are done. So only minimal e-waste.

Recommended donation for one board is 10£ or 10€. You can get them at the #HardwareHackingArea

  7. Hey #GPN22 crowd 🦈
I did bring a lot of #ReworkCTF boards to the event. If you want to improve your PCB repair and soldering skills, this might be the project for you.

  8. Doing some yolo routing to get a few #ReworkCTF boards to #emf2024

You can get them at the HardwareHackingArea.

  9. Another final update on the latest #ReworkCTF order. I received the boards, shipping and customs went smoothly.

Unfortunately, the JLC engineers fixed one challenge, even though I have an email that says they understood the requirement:

    > Well noted the opening is for R20 and you designed it that way on purpose.

But the mask on R20 was completely removed. Destroying the challenge C05. I marked this as defect of the production, lets see how they respond.

  10. Ordering the #ReworkCTF is always a hassle since the engineers at JLC want to fix all the challenges.
This time they found two issues on the board in total. When the DFM check for assembly happens, I expect more questions and corrections that I will ask them to undo again :)

    > 1As shown below, the indicated trace and copper is connected, is that normal? Do you need to separate them?

  11. Solved it by the most advanced computer-toucher trick:
Turning it off and on again.

Lets see if this order now works. Those are the #ReworkCTF boards that I want to bring to #GPN22

  12. My order of more #ReworkCTF boards at JLCPCB does not work as expected. Apparently they don't have enough 0201 feeders. Who would have thought :/

  13. I brought some #ReworkCTF boards to #Fosdem
Try to find me if you would like to get one.

I am currently in the #OpenHardware devroom, but will wander around later.

  14. Started with the #ReworkCTF Challenge and immediately butchered a poor LED 🙃
Fortunately we could replace it with a different footprint LED we had lying around

  15. CW: Fast flashing LEDs

Video of my solved #reworkctf 2/2

  16. Finished my #ReworkCTF from #37c3 made by @cccpresser
Quite a few tricky bits and I fried one of the LEDs while de/resoldering
    1/2

  17. You can find this cute #Blobhaj on the back of the #ReworkCTF board.

  18. If you are at #37c3 and want to learn repairing a circuit board you can go to the #HardwareHackingArea and get a #ReworkCTF board.

Its a practice board that has lots of common errors that need fixing. 👩‍🏭

    Instructions are at gitlab.aachen.ccc.de/cpresser/

Also, it has #Blahaj on the back 🦈

  19. I can't make it to #37c3 this year but I'm wondering if there's any way to get my hands on a #reworkCtf board somehow?

On #cccamp23 I think they looked like this but I was too late to get one 🤷

    git.aachen.ccc.de/cpresser/rew

  20. Thanks to @ChaosPost, you can get a few #ReworkCTF boards at @MRMCD

Go to the ChaosPost-Office to pick them up. Only 8 are available.
