  1. Testing Brian Corteil’s excellent Space Unicorn to the max. Very impressed with how brightly the badge can run 241 LEDs off the battery.

  2. 🔌 The #EMFCamp phones infrastructure is going to be unplugged soon, so the website and SIP connections will go offline.
💡 If you're interested in using a permanent, year-round version of the system for you or your hackspace, please let us know and give your feedback!

  3. to the point that when I did my null sector set last month I made sure to reference it, I'm not sure if anyone at #EMFcamp got the joke, but to be honest I had to scratch an itch.

  4. @mrpjevans @pikesley @moraghickman I hope that when you do wear it at #EMFCamp it'll be wired up to a microcontroller to make it do the spinney around thing that bow ties are famous for!

  5. Nice little Sleepy Bot soldering kit I picked up at #EMFCamp from @42computer . Thanks

  6. Never got to wear this at #EMFCamp but the temp is finally low enough to channel my inner @pikesley . cc @moraghickman

  7. So @robinince wrote about @emf in the Big Issue and gave us a new tagline. #emfcamp

Just found this randomly on instructables. The EMF Camp Spiders could have some friends built... #emfcamp

  10. Q1: Introduce yourself and tell us what you’ve made this week! #MakersHour

Oh, I missed it... is that the time...

Well, it wasn't this week, but since I last fitted in a makers' hour I soldered together a couple of fun kits I bought at #EMFCamp!

I haven't done much since then... fits and spurts is kinda how things happen here. Usual story of long days, work, exhaustion, and a spicy peppering of anxiety getting in the way.

  11. Our #EMFCamp #tildagon 2024 front plate "afterlife" boards have arrived from @GlitchEngine plus also grabbed two of these cool microphone hexpansions at the same time!

Bonus sparkly sticker for my laptop! :)

    Get yours here: ko-fi.com/s/6f3e26f617

The video shows both "in action".

  12. My little one is leaving home! Many of you probably met Nat helping me in the night market at or on one of the many volunteer shifts they did at the event this year. A' level results were great, and now they have signed their contract and found a place to live ready to start an engineering degree apprenticeship in the Lake District. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, I'm not at all jealous!

  13. #introduction wrrrf! i'm marsh, a dog on the internet. you might've seen me around before. i write a fair amount of software and play a hell of a lot of VRChat. if you recognise me, hiii!! if you don't, also haiii!!! after spending a wonderful week or so at #emfcamp in the glorious sovereign nation of @glastonledburyshire_on_severn, i realised i should probably get back into using the fediverse :3

i don't want to make this introduction post have too much personal information embedded within, which sounds contradictory but the last time i made one of these i literally never updated it. not even once. instead, you can read about me on my website... i'm working on a more modern rendition that will be up at https://marshift.ing, but for now you can visit https://marsh.zone.

i used to run the majority of my infrastructure on a PlayStation 4, including an Akkoma instance hosting my primary fedi account. over time, as the rest of me moved on but the ps4 did not, the entire thing became more and more of a chore to maintain - i've improved drastically at system administration since its creation, and this mess wasn't helped by the fact i was unable to use Docker at the time due to a kernel restriction, so the installation was extra crusty. i toyed with the idea of fixing it, maybe reinstalling, but with the looming thoughts of moving out on the horizon, i decided it was an idea best revisited another time. i've attached a screenshot of the theme i made for it, though. it's really awesome and i'll 100% be publishing it somewhere once the ps4 is gone.

that's all. see you around :p

  14. Question for folks who also went on a batwalk at #emfcamp :
Someone had this cool small bat detector that transformed the sound to an audible pitch. Does someone know which PCB/Project that was?

  15. Imagine dropping the Channel 4 "ADHD Doesn't Exist" people into #EMFCamp though

  16. WooHoo!

I've just placed the first calls through my #strowger #TelephoneExchange collection since #EMFCamp 2024!!

It took 2+ years to get them wired back in after I rearranged the shed to take one of them to emf

All 4 of the #ElectroMechanical exchanges return dialtone when prodded from DECT, and the DTMF to pulse converters still work!

There are a lot of faults for me to fix before I can even contemplate letting anyone else dial in - but OMG IT'S ALIVE!

  17. Here's a nice rave sample pack from @MusicRadar:

    musicradar.com/music-tech/samp

If you download it, click the #Strudel link below, and import the samples... you'll get an infinite soundscape - a wandering World'O'Techno-alike perhaps.

I've had it on in the background for hours and it's only driven me /slightly/ nuts.

Stereo recommended. There are more samples to be drilled in there if you're feeling adventurous.

  18. Had the @content debrief tonight for this year's #emfcamp. Can happily say we are very, very pleased with how it went this year and are already fired up to do it again!
