Just for fun, I'll sometimes put non-photo-related "easter-egg" content on my new website - like this "Vertigo" fan page that I had originally hand-coded in HTML for my first website in 1997. I was able to use some of my original transparent gifs from the time as section separators, and found a workaround to link to some *.wav soundclips.

Been working on curating a collection of old Flash and Shockwave games for my #CGHMN site. I've noticed a trend...

Shockwave: mostly made by commercial developers. Pretty much all E-rated.

Flash: mostly made by amateurs. Crude content is the norm; hard racism, sexism, general bigotry, toilet humor and bad spelling are omnipresent.

AOL trial disks were not the only way the web was brought to the masses during the 1990's.

Some chose instead to physically deliver a slice of the web in the form of a CD-ROM.

These "internet CDs" offer a glimpse into the early web that can't be found even in the Wayback Machine.

Archive95 is an effort to track down and consolidate these CDs, as well as other obscure data troves, into a unified web archive experience.
