Announcing the Sarah Jones Award 'for exceptional contribution to fostering collaboration in Open Science.'
🥲 Bittersweet to hear of a memorial award for a friend, but a wonderful gesture by @resdatall ♥️

A nice walk around City Hill with good views, looking around Salzburg on a lovely sunny afternoon - a short break from #resdatall #IDW2023

@[email protected] I agree. Policies about citation (whether data or software) should be community-defined, not publisher created, though of course, publishers can add more specific guidance on top of the community standards. People submitting preprints should be following community standards, even if the preprint server doesn't enforce this. #resdatall #IDW2023

I'm mildly surprised to find that only about 55% ($400m of $731m) of the research funding at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is federal. I would have guessed it was closer to 80%.

I looked this up during a discussion in the #resdatall Funders Forum going on now, after a talk from Maryam Zaringhalam from OSTP. The data is from the university's most recent (FY21) research report: https://research.illinois.edu/sites/default/files/UIUC_Research-Report_Digital.pdf

A follow-up slide on #resdatall and geography from Hilary Hanahoe

It’s interesting that the #resdatall Funders Forum agenda seems so US-dominated in terms of speakers/leaders. I think the Funders Forum itself and the RDA overall are quite international, with perhaps a plurality of members from Europe, and this meeting is in Europe

What is a #standard, #database or #policy that piqued your interest recently? When asking the #FAIRsharingCommunityChampions today, I thought of #MORF (https://doi.org/10.25504/FAIRsharing.71a10c in @fairsharing) a repository for the management of large and complex #multiomics datasets. Developed by @uniofyork, it fits the 'interesting' theme as I heard of it in the schoolyard at my child's primary school! The ways we create collaborations are 'interesting' indeed 🙂 #EOSCFuture #resdatall #RDA #RDA_Europe #FAIR

Thanks for the great summary from #OxfordeResearch about @fairsharing (and others!) contributions to #ELIXIREurope in its 2022 annual report. The roles of #FAIRsharingCommunityChampions in our project is also described 🥳

Our #FAIRsharingCommunityChampions were recruited for their domain expertise. Now that it's nearly a year since they began at @fairsharing, I've asked: what knowledge or connections have you gained *outside* your domain? For me, launching the programme as an #EOSCFuture #RDA_Europe Domain Ambassador, I've gained connections outside of my area of expertise that are as diverse as the Champions!

@nicolasvivant Oui mais dans ce cas, les résultats de recherches sont beaucoup trop larges. Je crois que je vais créer un haschtag de communauté à faire passer via d'autres réseaux (e.g. #resdatall pour Research Data Alliance)

It could be a good Idea to make a #RDA Research Data Alliance @mastodon pack of accounts to follow for new arriving peoples @natalieharrower @hilaryhanahoe isn't it? #FAIRData #Resdatall

I had a great time with @ReproducibiliTeaGlobal #ReproTeaUEA, and it was a super conversation that day about @fairsharing the #FAIRsharingCommunityCurator programme and my #resdatall #RDA_Europe / #EOSC #EOSCFuture Domain Ambassadorship. Thanks for having me & for sharing the video! https://youtu.be/k1L5oOHieq4
