Thanks again to our speakers Roland Bertelmann @rbert (@HelmholtzOpenScienceOffice), Josefine Nordling (CSC – IT Center for Science), Lionel Perini (@snsf_ch), Kirsten Elger (Earth System Science Data Journal) and Joy Davidson (FAIR-IMPACT project)!

  2. A nice walk around City Hill with good views, looking around Salzburg on a lovely sunny afternoon - a short break from

  3. coming from #ipres2023 with the feeling that "we've got this" and #digipres thinking is deeply embedded into digital workflows across the GLAM, university & research landscape to #idw2023 #RDAplenary21 is quite the reality check.
over the past 2 days i've seen parts of the wheel being reinveted and 2003esque digipres discussions of differences between "long-term avalialility", "long-term archiving", "digital preservation".
why do we all fail to collaborate better over and over again !?

  4. @[email protected] I agree. Policies about citation (whether data or software) should be community-defined, not publisher created, though of course, publishers can add more specific guidance on top of the community standards. People submitting preprints should be following community standards, even if the preprint server doesn't enforce this.

  5. If you’re using satellite images for citizen-based monitoring & verification (nonproliferation, peace & security, etc.) and you’re at #IDW2023 this week, please find me - I’d love to talk with you! #idwsalzburg2023 #scidatacon

  6. Great audience questions at #IDW2023 #scidatacon - I’m looking forward to continuing the conversation over the upcoming week!

  8. FAIR is turning 10 this year. will be interesting to see what'll come in the teens.... i'm hoping for a honest to got pubescent rebellion where we can stop calling everything "FAIRyfied" etc. and can reflect on what it really means, how it ties to infrastructure (TRUST) and ethics (CARE) and stop pouring tons of money into bs bingo #RDAplenary #IDW2023 #juststatingmyopinion

  9. Sadly no pronouns on #rdaplenary #IDW2023 name tags. I thought there was an option to include them during registration

  10. In our #SciDataCon session at #IDW2023, we will explore what motivations, priorities, expected outcomes, and strategies guide the #OpenScience policy development process; what stakeholders expect from #ResearchDataRepositories; and what actions repositories are taking to facilitate #PolicyImplementation.
