We revisited Nine Sols on Switch – and it still stands out as one of the most striking "Taopunk" action games in years.
Brutal, precise combat, dense world-building, and a surprisingly emotional core wrapped in stunning 2D art.

Devotion: GOG wird immer noch von der Entscheidung geplagt, das taiwanesische Horrorspiel einzustellen

"That situation remains difficult to reflect on" - GOG's decision to pull Taiwanese horror game Devotion plagues the company still

Just finished watching a playthrough of a Taiwanese #horror #game called #DEVOTION from #RedCandleGames and it's honestly SO good. So good that despite having watched it, I still wanted to get the game to experience it myself but I only found their OST DLC on #Steam, not the game. Another horror game of theirs, #DETENTION, was on Steam and still is. Turns out, DEVOTION was also on Steam but got removed very shortly after its release in 2019 due to an Easter Egg referencing Xi Jinping 🤠 I'm just surprised it was removed globally rather than just from Chinese Steam.
The game was re-released on their own site/store 2 years later though and is still available there, but with non-localised pricing unlike what you'd get on Steam, and without official Steam support on #Linux, that's a tougher sell. Really good game though and definitely worth a watch if not a playthrough. It's horrifying, but also really heartbreaking which is honestly the perfect blend.

I've played through #RedCandleGames' #Devotion a few days ago.
I've been putting it of, because their previous game Detention was already creepy as fuck. After it vanished from stores, it also vanished from my mind for a while.
Last October however, it was heavily recommended by #WatchOutForFireballs .
It's only 2-3h long and scary as all hell. It has some (good) jump scares, but its high points are the creepy atmosphere and story.
I can only extend the recommendation if you haven't played it.
