  6. It's really annoying when an update to some software in the middle of an OS's supported lifetime breaks compatibility with the previous version of said software.

    In this case, rdiff-backup updating to version 2.2 on Fedora and RHEL/Rocky/Alma breaking backwards compatibility. Since I can't upgrade everything to version 2.2, I have to make sure I exclude ridff-backup from my updates or the systems don't get backed up anymore.

  7. Is there some tool similar to #rsync that can efficiently update a file from any state to a new version only from static files served for example from an HTTP server?
    rsync daemon is not static, and #rdiff needs to know the file you're updating from...
