Holo the Wise Wolf laughs at her own teasing joke as her target, traveling companion Kraft Lawrence, sits somewhere between embarrassed and unamused.
But don't worry. Pretty soon, Lawrence learns to jab back and any given conversation between these two can veer wildly from intellectual, to haughty, to teasing, to indignation, to romantic and all the way back again.
This is why #SpiceAndWolf is well regarded for having one of the best relationships in #anime.

Orange-haired Papika stares down a land-submarine full of Mad Max style water thieves. She just easily defeated their largest, colossal-sized warrior, but now has to face the gang's boss... a small middle school aged girl who shockingly looks a lot like Papika's missing dimension-hopping partner, Cocona!
"Watch closely," says the nearby village chief, "We are about to witness what you could call the secret foundation of our very world - the Dance of Miracles."

Speaking of Mawaru Penguindrum, my little #RandomAnime post about the show yesterday accidentally led me to this crazy bicycle sequence where Kanba Takakura must chase down a truck that is getting away with his younger sister's magical possession hat. Without it, she is just a dead body collapsed on the floor!
Reminiscent of Madoka? Penguindrum did come out after... (But just by one season, too soon to have copied the idea!)
There's some pretty cool frantic animation here.

Homura Akemi and her hair flips. Whenever this stoic magical girl does something she feels is noteworthy she has a tendency to run her hand through her long black hair and flip it out to the side so it settles behind her.
It's probably just a practical gesture. But to anyone watching her outmaneuver the most powerful enemies or make fools out of misbehaving rival magical girls, it probably looks like the most dramatic and condescending taunt ever.

For most of her life, Karen put her heart and soul into becoming a musical theater actress so she could act in a play called Starlight along with her friend Hikari.

Where most of the humanoid gems in Land of the Lustrous require sunlight to function and have trouble staying awake at night, Cinnabar is able to serve as a night patrol thanks to the light-gathering mercury it exudes.
Cinnabar's is a sad story, however, as its patrols are pointless. The gems enemies have never once come during the night in 3000+ years. Cinnabar's mercury is also the one thing that can permanently harm its fellow gems making its night patrol a forced exile.

Also, just realized something. Maya and Claudine have switched roles from their practice dance routine earlier in the tv series.
Back then, it was Maya in the lead in the suit and Claudine in the dress. Now it is reversed.
In the all female stage show culture that Revue Starlight is based upon, the girls playing a lead male role are held high above any of the other actresses in their troupe.
Interesting to see who ended up with which role here in the movie!

Claudine Saijo has just suffered another loss to Maya Tendo upon the magical Stage of Fate. So why then is Claudine laughing instead of bending her knee to as per their usual?
Maya has talent, skill, determination, and even a family lineage all easing her way toward unmatched success as a future stage actress…

Flip Flappers ending sequence is just as unique as the hybrid magical girl / adventure stories it follows each episode.
On the top half, we remove our two main characters from their modern day trips to the highly varied worlds of Pure Illusion and instead see them move through a slowly scrolling collage depicting a classic creepy fairytale.
On the bottom are a few different looping animations that show some of their their adorable reactions to their ongoing adventure.

“I know, Sayaka... it sucks to be alone. Believe me, I know. But it's ok, now. 'Cause I’m here with you, Sayaka."
I think I vastly underrated the subplot of Kyoko Sakura and Sayaka Miki when I first watched Madoka Magica.
From the clashes of Sayaka's sense of justice and Kyoko's faith, to the way they inspired each other while not realizing it, to the way they almost save each other, and to the way they actually do... there was some really cool storytelling going on!

Homura Akemi commits perhaps her worst mistake of all as she tells the Incubator called Kyubey the events of the Madoka Magica #anime. Staying quiet would have certainly saved Homura a lot of anguish in the 3rd movie!
I love this shot high atop a crane. The art is less detailed than in many of the other shows and movies I enjoy, but there is a great sense of scale along with a bit of unreality to the background that fits the sometimes odd art styles of this amazing series.

When reserved class president Kei Tanigawa joined the photography club, she choose the endlessly friendly and photogenic Komichi Akebi as her photo subject.
The resulting photobook, and the fun time the two had making it alongside some of their fellow classmates, captured Komichi's innocently sweet and thoughtlessly goofy sides in equal measure.
Plus, we got so many fun expressions out of Komichi during the course of the episode. Truly an animator's #anime!

#SoundEuphonium is back on the air, so I thought I’d continue the Kitauji tribute for this week's #AnimangaFoundIt challenge.
Here's Hazuki Katou, Sapphire (Midori!) Kawashima, and Kumiko Oumae trying on their SunFes marching band uniforms for the first time.
It was a blast watching this week's season 3 opener then going back and watching just how distant everyone was, Kumiko and Reina especially, from each other compared to how close friends they are now!

What’s more dangerous than being sucked out of an exploding private jet over the ocean while being pursued by artificially created otherworldly monsters that will turn you to ash with the slightest touch?
Fortunately for Maria Cadenzavna Eve, fellow Symphogear user Tsubasa Kazanari was right there beside her. While Maria couldn’t currently transform, Tubasa could, and she saves the day with her One Thousand Tears.

Yume Minami lightly scolds her friend Mei for using pictures of her in her display during their school festival. These two's subdued friendship wasn't a main point of the series, but it was fun to see it come up in small ways here and there throughout the show.
The way Mei questions why Yume isn’t at her class doing her part in the festival only to instantly pose for a new selfie right after tells the strength of their bond.

I settled on Frill from Wonder Egg Priority with her face lit up in delighted awe of the new backyard garden belonging to one of her fathers, Acca, and his newly wed wife, Azusa.

Does teamwork make the dream work? That's what this week's #AnimangaFoundIt asked us to find out.
It almost doesn't early on for Haruhiro, Yume, Moguzo, Shihoru, Manato, and Ranta. The six of them were recently isekai-ed to the dangerous world of Grimgar, and, after a few unsuccessful fights against lone, low-level Goblins, they finally blunder their way into taking one down. But not without a lot of close calls and rookie mistakes along the way!

“Wave, Listen To Me!”’s Minare Koda prepares a meal for herself and her coworker / roommate Mizuho Nanba. The two work a late night radio show spearheaded by Minare's fast talking improvisational skills with Mizuho acting as an junior-level assistant director on the program.
I'm always impressed by how witty this show is, and how excellently the English script and voice talent manages to adapt the fast moving dialogue.

I’m gonna spare everyone the sight of Satsuki Kiryuin boldly bearing her "wedding dress” and instead go with super star singer Sheryl Nome in prayer as a bride wearing a wedding dress of her own as... well... she also, at the same time, bursts open the doors of the church she is in posing as the groom come for his love.
(Sheryl’s extravagant, hologram-filled stage concerts get a bit weird!)
