Where would one find a drinking glass and eyeglasses in the same place? How about a bar... like say The Yellow Flag, a bar frequented by the Lagoon Company in Roanapur, Thailand.
Here, Dutch, Rock, and Benny enjoy a quiet drink after a long day of piracy and kidnapping... with Rock being the one pirated from and kidnapped with Dutch and Benny being his kidnappers!

Melting? How about a throwback to early 2023 and the show *The Ice Man and his Cool Female Colleague*? Himuro (our ice man) gets exposed to a little too much heat and "melts" into a younger/smaller form of himself and Fuyutsuki helps him by getting him a popsicle and he transforms back to his normal size. When sentient humanoid gemstone Phosphophyllite is swallowed by a giant snail sent from the moon, they are quickly dissolved by the larger creature's internal acids while some of its fellow gems such as Diamond, Bort, Jade, and Euclase are powerless to help less they be melted, as well!
Only two episodes in, and our main character has completely melted away!

Speaking of Mawaru Penguindrum, my little #RandomAnime post about the show yesterday accidentally led me to this crazy bicycle sequence where Kanba Takakura must chase down a truck that is getting away with his younger sister's magical possession hat. Without it, she is just a dead body collapsed on the floor!
Reminiscent of Madoka? Penguindrum did come out after... (But just by one season, too soon to have copied the idea!)
There's some pretty cool frantic animation here.

Also, it's a bit crazy that Miranda Meilin, who must be like some sort of relative of Jamis Meilin (and who I have clearly messed up the r/l's in their last name somewhere) won the Frontier's Miss Macross contest some 50 years later!
(Part of the reason I appreciate Macross Frontier so much is its multiple clever homages back to the original show!)

Mostly for how a military warship being pursued by an enemy not only didn't have ANY alert fighters on patrol, but for how the one pilot whose duty it was to protect everyone had to be called over the public address system to go to a phone both to be told to do his job!

Newly minted boyfriend and girlfriend Karen Himemiya and Sosuke Hakamada sing a sparkly karaoke song while Losing Heroine Anna Yanami, who was secretly in love with Sosuke yet who as a good friend alerted him to Karen's love, dutifully cheers them on.
Anna is CLEARLY, having a great time watching her love interest have romantic fun with another girl. :p

Disappointments? This may be going for low hanging fruit but *Rent A Girlfriend*. Conceptually, I still think a show that was about rental girlfriends and all the complications that would involve would be interesting. This show though, revolving around an unremarkable MC who never really improves in a meaningful way (though I've dropped off in case he has), and a bunch of girls who deserved better, isn't that. Things have been going well between traveling merchant Kraft Lawrence and minor harvest god Holo the Wise Wolf. They'd overcome trading houses and smugglers and were now rather lovey-dovey... until another merchant and a shocking truth came between them.
Lawrence finds himself in a crowd trying to make a desperate play to crash a short sold decorative pyrite market in order to stop the fellow merchant from having the funds to purchase Holo from him!
