I've used #rackspace to host my personal email -- and email for several friends at their custom domains -- for well over a decade. Their standard IMAP mailboxes are currently at $2.99.
At least until March 1st. I just got an email that they are raising their prices to $10/mailbox. That's right 3x.

Patches have been made available finally.
The articles for it are all behind a paywall on ScienceLogic portal.
The vulnerability description is an “unspecified vulnerability”.

Does anybody know which third party application within ScienceLogic is the vulnerable one?
ScienceLogic are refusing to disclose, as are Rackspace, so it’s created this ridiculous situation where there’s an actively exploited zero day in the wild where there’s zero information on how to protect and detect.

PSA for ScienceLogic SL1 customers - go to the support portal and download and apply the security hotfix for the product.
They haven't told people to do this and haven't allocated a CVE and locked it behind a support paywall -- but there's an actively exploited zero day in the product they're trying to actively downplay. #Rackspace #threatintel #ScienceLogic

@itsfoss I was migrating a server and went to change the docroot owner from apache to nginx. I meant to run:
chown -R nginx:nginx ./
What I actually ran was:
chown -R nginx:nginx /
This broke ssh and sudo. I was eventually able to recover it by getting into a recovery and reinstalling every rpm and manually fixing /etc leftovers from there. It was an early cloud server, so I didn't have physical access. This was back when #Rackspace support was worth the premium you paid for it.

I used to work at a place that used to resell Rackspace's Hosted Exchange, so followed it with some interest at the time. What a clusterduck it was!

Back in December 2022, #Rackspace got hit with ransomware on their Hosted Exchange, via exploitation of ProxyNotShell - as I reported at the time.
Rackspace have so far spent north of $10m on incident response. This excludes ongoing legal and professional services costs.
