I am just really excited about this new quote-post feature. Applications include:
- translating your posts to another language (especially if you keep accounts separated)
- extending some context on-point, when you know nobody will click to read the full thread
- reiterating your old posts, with learned experience
- extending on someone else's post (I mean those that started appearing recently on supported servers), when you have something to say about it, but also want to show it off with all media attached to the original post -
Boosting / quote boosts
Its possible in settings to turn off the Boost / Quote choice step in boosting.
After setting it to off, to Quote boost you must use the options menu (Three dots).
If you rarely quote boost, this a nice little headache remover.
In settings, in the browser, first page bottom.

Doing a quote on here feels surreal. Sadly I can't quote most posts ... I wonder if my old posts are locked like that... is there a way to unlock them?

Being able to retroactively change who can quote post you is great, but I wish I could change the visibility of already published posts as well...

Why didn't they just add a new button for Quote?
Overloading the Boost button like this makes Boosting more tedious, and since everyone is always talking about how important boosts are, making that UI more clumsy is just stupid.
