You know a quote post?
Is it basically the same as you posting a link to another post and it shows you a preview of that post?
Because posting a link to another post seems to do the same as a quote.

So after adding quote-posts to Mastodon, it seems the "quote-post apocalypse" did not eventuate.
I like to think it's because the user-base of Mastodon contains a much higher density of "well intentioned" users and far fewer of influencers, bots, attention-seekers and monetization etc. And the reason there are few of those, is because the user has full choice to never see them.
Intentions matter and so does **user-quality**.

I would like a setting matrix for Mastodon regarding the quote feature.
I will like to define that if I post public, quotes are allowed, but if post unlisted or to followers only it's not.
Right now I need to change the settings for each post if I change the visibility of the that post. Would be nice if I could define this in the settings based on the post visibility.

Koukám, že u quoted posts by se hodila ještě jedna vlastnost: když mám originál ztlumený, není třeba mi ukazovat ani post, který ho cituje.
