Have you met our first #keynote speaker for #PyOhio 2026? Now you have!
We're thrilled to welcome Carol Willing to join us in July. On top of being a PSF Fellow, a Python Core Developer, a Jupyter contributor, and serving 3 times on the Python Steering Council, Carol has a long list of achievements, and is just an overall lovely person. We can't wait to hear her speak!

We're in our 4th week of our #PyOhiothon #fundraiser, and we'd like to take a few moments to talk about the price of #conference tickets. 🎟️
You can donate to #PyOhio here: https://pyohio.org/donateMost annual conferences get a large portion of their revenue through ticket sales - this helps pay for the venue, catering, swag, etc. Costs can vary *significantly* based on size and location, and thus, conferences charge for tickets based on what the intended _audience_ is.

This list isn't comprehensive, and doesn't include assistance we've been able to provide to speakers in the past, but hopefully it gives some idea of the challenges we can face running an event like PyOhio. We rely on fundraising to cover these costs, so please continue to support us! 🙏

We've been asking for your support in the #PyOhiothon #fundraiser, but some people might wonder why we need help with funding. It's only fair to let you know some of the costs facing #PyOhio and how we use the donations. So let's break it down.
TL;DR - running even a small conference is REALLY expensive.Help us out by donating and spreading the word!

I referenced PEP Talk in my keynote yesterday.
The PEP process is an integral part of Core Python development. A majority of discussions among core devs are about PEPs. So if you want to start contributing to Python, you'll need to learn about PEPs.I have two versions of this talk!
