Since #PyOhio 2026 wrapped up, the organizers have been spending time reflecting on the event, but several of our attendees have shared some reflections of their own, and we wanted to share some of those (in no particular order)!

Thank you again for all those who attended #PyOhio 2026. We'll miss you, but we look forward to seeing you next year, if not sooner!

Our Web And Tech Chair was Dave Forgac. Dave is a long-time PyOhio supporter and handled the website, T-shirt campaigns, registration systems, badge printing, and probably 50 other tasks in the background.

Our 2026 Volunteer Chair was Laura Hanna. Laura recruited volunteers, made sure the volunteer schedule at the event was filled, and explained the roles to all the new volunteers.

Our 2026 Communications Chair was JR Rickerson. JR handles our social media channels ( 👋 ), helps with Discord, and tries to make sure everyone knows what they need to have a great conference.

Our 2026 Program Chair was Anurag Saxena. Anurag and his team of volunteers managed our entire CFP process, scheduled speakers in rooms, and handled changes as they appeared.

Our 2026 Conference Co-Chair (and Sponsorship Chair!) was Alex Knill. In addition to running all over the conference checking on everyone, he gets the award for the longest flight to attend PyOhio!

Of course, at the event, we're all pretty busy, and we'd never be able to keep up with everything if it weren't for all of our on-site volunteers . These fine people went the extra mile to help our speakers, attendees, and videographer so that everything could run smoothly. Thank you! You should be proud of yourselves. 🎉

#PyOhio 2026 has ended, and we've all headed back home, or on to our next adventures.
It's time to roll the credits for another year's event, and make sure to thank all those involved. A lot of people came together to help us make this event possible, and it's important to recognize them. -
Made it home after a fun weekend hanging out at #PyOhio. So many props to the organizers, speakers and volunteers for making such a fun, inclusive event.
And many thanks to the hordes of people who came up to me after the event and helped wrap cables!

While I was at #PyOhio I went to hear @itsthejoker talk about lambdas. Great talk. Y'all should definitely watch it when the videos are up. As a throwaway at the top of the talk, Joe talked about ~ and using it for simplified list access from the right. I thought it was really cool so I wrote it up. I hope you think it's cool too.

I spent a busy weekend running around, helping where I could, meeting new people, and basically doing everything except sleeping 😅
And it was worth every minute.I want to personally thank all of the other folks on the organizer team, both present and past, for keeping #PyOhio going for 19 years now, for being so welcoming to me, for showing me the ropes, and for reassuring me when I doubted myself. You are all amazing people and I couldn't have asked for a better first experience. 🙌

I had a great time attending @pyohio again this year! The community is just full of so many intelligent, interesting, and thoughtful people, it's hard to compare to any other experience.
This was also my first year as one of the conference organizers! While I've organized meetups and other volunteer groups, I've never organized anything as large as #PyOhio before.
