The sorta good news is - we know these "proximity operations" are occurring in space. The bad news these operations seem to be increasing in frequency.
October 18, a Russian military satellite known as Kosmos-2612 maneuvered purposely to within a few hundred meters of another satellite, ICEYE-X36, operated by a Finnish company, that provides intelligence to Ukraine and others.
