Last year, the U.S. Space Force issued alerts for nearly 820 objects entering the Earth’s atmosphere.
“Re-entries happen each and every day,” "Huge objects weighing a metric ton or more arrive about once a week" according the space collision experts.
While much of the debris incinerates in the atmosphere or splashes into the Pacific, but when it does not - it can land anywhere and on one can predict where.

It's been more than two months since I legally changed my name and Login.gov still refuses to recognize who I am... All of this verification is so that I can go present my license in person at the local post office. :facepalm:
It got really crazy over the last weekend when I got it to accept my ID... Only to get rejected at the post office because the Login.gov site was asking for an ID that never existed (the ID type was wrong and the expiration date was both wrong and impossible for the given ID type). :thisisfine:
I tried calling their 24x7 customer service but the only "service" they offer is to go over the troubleshooting steps on their knowledge base website. In the end, they told me that I would not be able to use their services at this time and that I should try ID.ME as an alternative. They also told me that I would just have to do all of my business at the local SSA office if I couldn't get the ID.ME alternative to work out. :facepalm: :facepalm: :facepalm:
Note: I didn't use ID.ME given it's private ownership and I didn't use the facial scan option because I've been trying to avoid that style of privacy invading tech. The "verify at the post office" option is the only real privacy preserving option that they offer.

Social Security to shutter National Hearing Centers since the vast majority of these appeals hearings now take place fully virtually through modern-day videoconference platforms.
Also, #SSA is spending more to recover low-dollar overpayments than it is recovering, on average 20% more, some as much as 50%.
They spent $4.6 million to recover $2.6 million for low amount overpayments from 16000 claimants, which often is caused by SSA's payment calculation error and no fault of claimants.
In 2007, SSA opened National Hearing Centers to have administrative law judges hear more appeals from individuals whose initial retirement or disability claim was rejected. Individuals would show up at their local hearing office to have their appeals heard, but the case would be heard on video by an administrative law judge located in one of these National Hearing Centers.

Social Security Customer Service Worker Charged in Disability Funds Theft Scheme.
The worker targeted claimants diagnosed with mental health disorders and altered claimant records in the SSA database to include bank accounts he controlled and his residential mailing address so he could receive their benefit funds, stealing $116,537.62. The worker also adjusted the date of benefit eligibility and generated large backpay benefits.
The worker faces up to 20 years in prison for wire fraud, up to 20 years for mail fraud, up to 10 years for theft of government property, up to five years for false statements, and a mandatory two years for aggravated identity theft. #SSA .

Helping a disabled, retired government worker on Social Security stop an overpayment of $31K after the Biden era SSA offset ended and his payments increased, got his offset backpay, and then for whatever reason, Trump's SSA reversed that on his account, lowered his monthly payment adding the offset back, issued an overpayment, and will soon start deducting 60% of his monthly #SocialSecurity check until 2030. Making matters worse is the local #SSA office is understaffed. Glad this was my business for decades. My old contacts are still picking up my calls. lol.
